Akt London Lands $7 Million Investment

Akt London Felix Capital Funding

Akt London, the British skincare brand renowned for its premium natural deodorants, has successfully secured $7 million in a funding round led by Felix Capital. This investment is set to fuel the brand’s growth and drive innovation in the wider personal care category.

In a LinkedIn post, Akt London expressed excitement about the funding, stating, “We’re thrilled to announce that Akt London has secured a $7M investment from Felix Capital to fuel our expansion into the US and beyond! This marks an exciting new chapter for us as we continue to innovate and grow. A huge thank you to our community for all your support—watch this space, big things are coming!”

Founded in 2020 by West End performers Andy Coxon and Ed Currie, Akt London was born out of the need for a deodorant that could endure the gruelling conditions of theatre life. This led to the development of the Deodorant Balm, an award-winning, gender-neutral product praised for its efficacy, luxurious fragrances, and eco-friendly credentials. The company has seen remarkable growth, expanding threefold year-on-year, and is on track to generate $10 million in annual revenue. To date, it has sold over 500,000 units worldwide. The US market, which the brand entered in February 2024, now represents a third of its business.

“From our shared home in London’s West End, Akt caught our eye at Felix early on. In addition to the brand’s impressive early traction, we have been blown away by Akt’s strong customer love evident both through best-in-class monthly subscription and repeat revenue, as well as qualitatively through the brand’s social media and UGC,” Felix Capital said in a statement.

Felix Capital, a London-based venture capital firm, focuses on digital lifestyle investments and has a portfolio featuring high-growth brands such as Mejuri and Castore. Their recent investment in Akt will be channelled towards product innovation, scaling operations in the US, and expanding retail partnerships. Looking further ahead, the brand plans to expand its presence by entering new markets, including those in Europe and Australia.

In August 2024, Akt London broadened its product range to include body care, launching three new products: a skin-balancing and moisture-locking Body Wash Concentrate, a firming and rejuvenating Body Balm, and a 100% plant-based Konjac Sponge.
