Chappell Roan Is the New Face of MAC Cosmetics
MAC Cosmetics has a new face for 2026, and it’s one of the most talked-about performers of the moment. The brand has named Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Chappell Roan as its latest Global Brand Ambassador, marking the start of a long-term partnership set to deliver bold creative moments, global campaigns, and the kind of theatrical beauty statements Roan has made her signature.
The announcement feels like a natural next step for the artist, whose rise has been defined by performance, persona, and unapologetic self-expression. “Partnering with MAC feels full circle. This brand has always made space for people like me; since day one they’ve embraced art, queerness, drag, and self-expression,” said Chappell.
According to MAC’s global creative leadership, Roan’s impact extends far beyond her stagecraft. “I’m so excited to welcome Chappell Roan as MAC’s new Brand Ambassador. She is one of the most exciting and powerful artists of this generation; a true creative force who uses beauty as a form of bold, emotional storytelling,” said Nicola Formichetti, MAC Cosmetics Global Creative Director. “Chappell represents a generation that values authenticity, queer joy, and fearless self-expression, which aligns perfectly with MAC and our mission of ‘All Ages, All Races, All Genders.’ Her love for her community, especially her commitment to LGBTQIA+ voices and rights, reflects the heart of what MAC has championed since the beginning. We’re thrilled for everything we’ll create together. Welcome to the MAC family, Chappell, you really are the favourite artist’s favourite artist.”
Roan’s debut campaign — shot by iconic duo Inez & Vinoodh — captures the singer in a theatrical, monochrome vision anchored by her signature cloud-white skin, bleached brows, and a Cool Teddy lip. The look, created with Makeup Artist Andrew Dahling, leans into Roan’s ability to merge glamour with character work. “Chappell’s first MAC campaign is a modern take on androgyny that feels powerful, graphic, and unmistakably her,” says Dahling. “I drew from film-noir monochrome and 1930s military references and then layered in her signature high glamour. The stark white base and erased brows created a clean canvas for sculpted dimension, while the eyes were built with cool greys and deep blacks to evoke a moody, cinematic intensity. We finished with a custom chunky frosted-tip glitter lash that adds a playful, hyper-feminine contrast to the structure of the look, capturing the theatrical spirit Chappell brings to every transformation.”
All campaigns will roll out globally next year, with more creative surprises promised.
