Diarrha N’Diaye Joins Skims
Kim Kardashian’s Skims has appointed Diarrha N’Diaye, founder of Ami Colé, as Executive Vice President of Beauty & Fragrance.
The appointment follows Kardashian’s move to bring all her beauty ventures under the Skims umbrella earlier this year, after reacquiring her former brand SKKN by Kim and consolidating its assets into the growing lifestyle empire. The decision marks the latest development for the billion-dollar brand as it expands beyond shapewear and apparel into a full-scale beauty category.
For those who followed Ami Colé, N’Diaye’s appointment feels both strategic and symbolic. Raised in Harlem, she grew up in her mother’s hair salon — a formative space that shaped her understanding of beauty across deeper skin tones. After roles at L’Oréal and Glossier, she launched Ami Colé in 2021, creating a “no-makeup-makeup” range that became a benchmark for inclusivity and authenticity. The brand was widely praised for its clean formulations and real-skin aesthetic before closing in July this year amid challenging market conditions — an update N’Diaye shared in an open letter published in The Cut.
N’Diaye will bring that same focus on community and representation to Skims through product development, innovation, and brand strategy for the soon-to-launch Skims Beauty division.
“I want Skims Beauty to be a place where everyone feels represented, and there is no better person to help us do that than Diarrha,” said Kardashian, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Skims. “She has an incomparable talent for blending the emotional and practical sides of beauty, and her instincts and experience in innovation and authenticity will drive our brand forward.”
For Skims, the appointment strengthens its standing as a brand built on inclusivity while marking a confident step into the competitive beauty market. It shows that the brand plans to take the same smart, culturally aware approach that helped make its shapewear a global success.
