Diptyque Debuts Luxury Fragrances

Corail Oscuro Diptyque

From its inception, Diptyque has been a celebration of nature, translating the beauty of the natural world into its many fragrances. Its latest collection, Les Essences de Diptyque, marks a new chapter in this olfactory journey, offering the most premium and ambitious scents to date.

Les Essences de Diptyque is an innovative collection of fragrances inspired by synaesthesia. Paying homage to five ordinarily scentless natural elements, these eaux de parfum invite you to visualise the world through scent alone. Each fragrance captures the essence of its inspiration, allowing you to experience the beauty of coral, mother of pearl, bark, water lily, and desert rose crystals in a new and imaginative way.

When creating this collection, Diptyque enlisted a team of preeminent perfumers renowned for their creativity and expertise. Fabrice Pellegrin, Alexandra Carlin, Nathalie Cetto, and Olivier Pescheux were given free rein to craft olfactory compositions that echoed these natural wonders. They meticulously selected natural raw ingredients with exceptional olfactory properties, ensuring both the origin and traceability of each component.

Diptyque

Corail Oscuro, crafted by Alexandra Carlin, is a floral-mineral fragrance blending rose bourbon absolute with the crystalline sparkle of mandarin, elevated by a warm, salty mineral accord that captures the essence of coral.

Lunamaris, designed by Fabrice Pellegrin, combines the gentleness of rockrose with the spicy accents of pink peppercorn, capturing the iridescent beauty of mother of pearl. This amber-spicy scent is infused with subtle incense notes, delivering a mineral freshness and an enveloping warmth.

Bois Corsé, developed by Nathalie Cetto and Olivier Pescheux, is a woody fragrance that blends the enveloping softness of tonka bean with the smoothness of sandalwood essence. This sophisticated composition is deepened by notes of black coffee, adding a bitter quality that reflects the feel of a living bark.

Lilyphéa, another creation by Cetto and Pescheux, is a green-ambery fragrance that subtly blends cardamom and violet leaves with the softness of Madagascan vanilla, conjuring the delicate nature of water lily.

Rose Roche, crafted by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin, offers a captivating interpretation of desert rose crystals, inspired by the enchanting aromas of the Middle East. This floral-hesperidic fragrance melds zesty lemon with the velvety petals of the centifolia rose, enriched by a touch of earthy mineral patchouli.

Diptyque Lunamaris

In a harmonious blend of art and olfaction, Irish artist Nigel Peake crafted visual representations for each fragrance that hover between realism and fantasy. Employing the soft, nuanced tones of watercolour on paper, Peake’s creations are displayed on the back of each bottle, where delicate line work in black contrasts with pastel hues, offering an abstract interpretation etched into the glass.

The collection introduces a redesigned bottle that nods to the maison’s heritage while embracing modernity. Echoing the original Diptyque perfume bottle, the iconic oval is now engraved on the glass, framing Peake’s artwork on the back. Topped with an aluminium spherical stopper, the bottle is endlessly refillable and produced using recyclable materials. Each fragrance is also accompanied by a coloured pouch for wearers to keep and carry wherever they go.

Les Essences de Diptyque will be available from 3rd September in Diptyque boutiques worldwide, as well as online at diptyque.com. Each fragrance is priced at £225, with a discovery set featuring 10ml versions of all five scents available for £165.
