Elle Sera Debuts First-Ever Liposomal Tripeptide Collagen

Elle Sera Liposomal Tripeptide Collagen

British supplement brand Elle Sera is entering the collagen category, and it’s doing so with Liposomal Tripeptide Collagen, a first in beauty.

Created with Professor Mohammad Najlah — a pharmaceutics and nanomedicine specialist with more than 25 years’ experience in drug-delivery systems — the formula centres on Glycine–Proline–Hydroxyproline, the tripeptide created naturally when collagen breaks down in the body. It’s widely regarded as the key signal that prompts new collagen formation, and Elle Sera’s approach focuses solely on this specific fragment rather than a mix of peptide sizes.

“Nothing on the market combines a clinically coveted collagen tripeptide (Gly-Pro-Hyp) with true liposomal delivery at this level,” says Elissa Corrigan, founder of Elle Sera.

“Collagen, like all proteins, is made up of a series of amino acids, almost like a chain of Lego bricks stacked together. When it’s broken down, it forms smaller groups of amino acids, known as peptides,” explains Professor Najlah. “The theory behind collagen supplementation is that if you can get these peptides into the bloodstream, the body reads it as a signal that collagen has broken down and starts to make more.”

The brand says the innovation lies in pairing a highly specific peptide with a delivery system designed to protect it during digestion. The tripeptides — already very small, in the 300–500 Dalton range — are encapsulated in pharmaceutical-grade liposomes, the type of lipid-based carriers commonly explored in advanced drug-delivery science. These microscopic spheres are intended to shield the peptide through the gut and assist its transfer into the bloodstream, where it can interact with fibroblast receptors, the collagen-producing cells within the skin.

“The team engineered 2,600 mg of liposomal tripeptides, designed to be 300× smaller than a skin cell and then managed to protect it to survive digestion, so more reaches collagen-producing cells where it matters. It took four years in development. It’s a first-of-its-kind system for absorption, radiance and renewal you can genuinely feel and see,” adds Corrigan.

The supplement also includes vitamins A, C and E, zinc, biotin and lycopene to support regeneration, natural collagen formation, antioxidant protection, and skin, hair, and nail health.

It is housed in a recyclable single-dose ampoule flavoured with natural fruit extracts. It can be taken directly or mixed with cold water as part of a once-daily routine.

The Liposomal Tripeptide Collagen is available now at elle-sera.com, priced from £55.95 ($75) for a 30-day supply, and ships to both the UK and US.
