ESPA’s Jet Lag Treatment Has Landed

Jet Lag Treatment

This summer, British spa brand ESPA has introduced a limited-edition treatment to its spa menu: the Jet Lag Treatment. Designed to combat the effects of long-haul travel, the new experience pairs aromatherapy with targeted massage techniques to restore energy, relieve tension, and rebalance the body’s natural rhythm.

Jet lag can leave even the most frequent flyers feeling disoriented, fatigued, and sleepless. The dry air in airplane cabins often exacerbates symptoms, causing dehydration, dry skin, and muscle tension, particularly in the lower legs, feet, shoulders, neck, and scalp. Jet lag occurs when the body’s circadian rhythm — the internal clock that regulates our sleep-wake cycles — is disrupted by crossing multiple time zones. While symptoms usually resolve within a few days, in more extreme cases, jet lag can persist for up to a week.

ESPA’s new Jet Lag Treatment is designed to address the full spectrum of symptoms experienced after a long-haul flight. Offering an immersive reset, the experience harnesses the restorative power of touch, scent, and warmth to deliver targeted relaxation, deep hydration, and support in restoring the body’s natural sleep patterns.

The 60-minute treatment begins with a grounding ritual, featuring inhalations and light massage around the neck and scalp to bring an instant feeling of calm. ESPA’s signature oil blends are then applied using a combination of heat therapy, hot towels, and warm oils to release tension in key areas such as the shoulders, legs, and feet. Exfoliation for the lower legs and feet is followed by a circulation-boosting massage, leaving the body feeling rehydrated, supple, and re-energised.

Beyond physical relief, guests can expect a sensory journey enhanced by the aromatherapeutic properties of each oil blend. These bespoke oil combinations ensure a fully personalised experience — ideal for addressing everything from insomnia and headaches to emotional fatigue, muscle soreness, and general lethargy.

The Jet Lag Treatment is available at select ESPA spas worldwide, for a limited time only.
