Folly Has Landed With a New Approach to Hair Gummies

Folly, a biotech-powered supplement brand, has just launched with a promise to bridge the gap between gummies that taste great but offer little benefit and high-performing pills that are so big you’re afraid to take them.

And the brand isn’t just arriving with a solution — it’s also calling out what it sees as the supplement industry’s consistency crisis.

According to the brand, the biological realities of supplements don’t always live up to expectations. It claims that standard manufacturing often relies on high heat, which can damage delicate plant-based actives, potentially leaving consumers with little more than flavoured sugar. Folly’s answer is drug-delivery science, developed with its parent company Genecis Bio. The Canadian biotechnology company has created a proprietary system called Folly Microspheres, a microencapsulation technology designed to protect ingredients during production and keep them stable through digestion. The brand says this technology enables its formula to deliver more than 30 clinically studied active ingredients at concentrations up to 16 times higher than typical hair gummies.

Founder Luna Yu, who completed a Master of Science by age 21 and is known for her work in carbon-negative bioplastics, created the brand to eliminate the trade-off between taste and potency. “I was frustrated by the trade-off consumers were being forced to make,” Yu explains. “Most hair gummies were underdosed and built more for taste than potency. But the capsule options that were strong enough required swallowing multiple large pills every day, something many women struggle to take consistently. Folly was built to eliminate that compromise: clinically structured ingredient levels in a format people can actually take daily.”

The brand’s debut product, Hair Health Gummies, is available in Tropical Fruit and Tropical Sour flavours and is designed for women experiencing real-world hair stressors, from postpartum thinning and menopausal changes to shedding associated with GLP-1 use. According to Folly, because hair health is influenced by everything from hormonal shifts to metabolic stress, the formula takes a multi-pathway approach with 10 plant-based actives. In a consumer perception study of 300 women, the brand reports that 84% saw improved hair health and 79% experienced less shedding within 30 days. As Yu puts it, these results happened “not because it’s a miracle, but because consistency and dosing finally aligned.”

The Hair Health Gummies are available now at follynutrition.com, with US shipping already live and UK access landing this April. They are priced at £45 for a four-week supply, while US pricing starts at $45 per month on subscription or $65 for a one-time purchase.
