Interview: Danielle Nadick Levy of Facile

Danielle Nadick Levy is a business strategist, brand builder, and self-described beauty obsessive who, alongside her business partner Dr. Nancy Samolitis, co-founded Facile — a brand that has grown from LA’s most-loved aesthetic clinic into one of the leading names in America’s clean-clinical skincare space.
Launched in 2021, Facile was created to complement the in-office treatments offered at its West Hollywood clinic. With the mantra “achieving good skin is easy,” the brand has built a loyal following for its minimalist routines, powered by effective, non-toxic ingredients, and has attracted several A-list fans, including Mandy Moore, Lucy Hale, and Dove Cameron.
In an industry that can often thrive on overcomplication, Facile takes the opposite approach, championing clarity, transparency, and visible results in just a few steps. With streamlined formulas, next-gen treatments, and a shelf-worthy aesthetic, the brand embodies its ethos: skincare that’s effortless, approachable, and effective.
We recently interviewed Danielle to unpack the story behind Facile, discover her go-to beauty staples, and explore the one issue she believes the beauty industry needs to tackle.
What inspired you to create Facile?
I spent a lot of time in our clinics and beauty stores, and there was an obvious gap between the two. Skincare either felt overly clinical and confusing, or super aesthetic and expensive but not actually effective. I wanted to create something that merged both worlds. Facile came out of a desire to simplify skincare and make it feel modern, edited, and rooted in real results. I’ve always been someone who loves products, but I don’t want a complicated 10-step routine, and I knew I wasn’t alone.
What product makes the best introduction to the brand?
Barely There is a great first step into Facile. It’s our lightweight moisturiser but it’s so much more than that. It’s deeply hydrating yet breathable, with ingredients like squalane, niacinamide, and ceramides that support the skin barrier without overwhelming it. It gives your skin exactly what it needs without weighing it down. It’s subtle but transformative, which perfectly captures what our brand is about. If you’re considering giving Facile a try, I highly recommend starting with Barely There.

What has been the biggest highlight?
Launching in Sephora was a huge milestone. It validated so much of the work we’d done behind the scenes. But honestly, the most meaningful moments are when I hear real stories from our customers. When someone tells us they tried everything and Facile was the one thing that finally worked for their skin or made them feel confident in their face, that’s everything. I’ve had people say they’d spent years trying different products and Facile was the first line that actually worked for them, without breakouts or sensitivity. That kind of trust is what it’s all about.
What advice would you give to those wanting to launch their own beauty business?
Make sure you have a very clear point of difference and that you’re solving a real problem. The space is crowded, and it’s not enough to just be clean or visually aesthetic. You need to offer something that has a reason to exist. Push yourself to create trends, not follow them. And always listen to your customers, especially when they’re giving you critical feedback. That’s where some of our biggest growth has come from. It’s not always easy to hear, but it’s always valuable.
What’s next for Facile?
We’re just getting started. We have some incredible new products launching soon that I’m really proud of, and they stay true to our philosophy of simplicity with impact. We’re also working on expanding our retail footprint across the US, and hopefully into Canada shortly after. The bigger vision is to keep growing in a way that feels true to who we are and to make great skin even more accessible.
What does your daily skincare routine look like?
I keep it simple and consistent. I use our Core Four every day, starting with Bare Necessity to cleanse, then Dew You and Brighten, depending on how my skin is feeling, and I always follow with Barely There. In the morning, I wear EltaMD or Isdin SPF, and at night I finish with OSEA’s Essential Hydrating Oil. It locks everything in and gives my skin a soft, dewy finish. I don’t believe in overdoing it. I’ve learned that when your routine is well-edited and intentional, that’s when your skin really thrives.

What are three beauty products you can’t live without?
Bare Necessity is my non-negotiable. It’s the one product I never skip. It cleanses without stripping and just keeps my skin feeling balanced, clear, and calm. It’s gentle enough for everyday use but still gets the job done, which is harder to find than you’d think. Then there’s my Shiseido eyelash curler. It instantly makes me look more awake, even when I’m running on no sleep. And EltaMD UV AOX Elements Tinted SPF, which has great protection and the perfect amount of coverage for a no-makeup day.
What’s the biggest skincare lesson you’ve learned?
You can do more with less. That’s something I believe deeply, and it’s part of our tagline at Facile: ‘minimal effort, maximum benefits’. The most transformative thing for my skin was simplifying and being consistent with the right products. You don’t need ten steps, just the right three or four that actually work for you.
What person or brand would you love to collaborate with?
I think Disney would be amazing. There’s so much emotional connection and storytelling in their world, and I think beauty has the same potential to create a feeling. I love the idea of taking something so iconic and unexpected and translating it into skincare that still feels elevated and thoughtful — something playful and nostalgic but rooted in quality.
What’s not getting the attention it deserves in the beauty industry right now?
The overuse of actives. Everyone’s using acids and retinols and scrubs and wondering why their skin is inflamed or breaking out. I think there’s a real need for more education around restraint. More isn’t better. You can cause more harm when you overwhelm your skin. We need to bring the conversation back to balance, barrier support, and understanding what your skin really needs.
Facile is available in the UK at Free People, and in the US at Sephora and facileskin.com.
