Introducing Verdoie: The Skincare Brand Powered by Mushrooms

French wellness brand Verdoie is on a mission to combat skin burnout for good, drawing on five generations of mushroom heritage.
Developed in advanced French laboratories in collaboration with a team of dermatologists, formulators, and herbalists, Verdoie harnesses the healing power of mushrooms to reimagine how we treat stressed and sensitised skin.
Founder Sonia Gaillis-Delepine established the brand by building on a rich family legacy that dates back to the 1860s, when her great-great-grandfather, Pierre-Louis, began farming mushrooms in Paris. Generations later, after personally battling chronic skin irritation, Gaillis-Delepine returned to her roots (quite literally) and discovered that mushrooms offered a new approach to skin healing and hydration.
For Gaillis-Delepine, mushrooms held the key to treating skin burnout: the dryness, redness, and unpredictable sensitivities triggered by a range of internal and environmental stressors. Through her exploration of mushroom-based treatments, she found that mushroom extracts can soothe depleted skin, support cellular regeneration, and strengthen the moisture barrier over time.
Yet despite her breakthrough, Gaillis-Delepine initially struggled to find a French laboratory willing to work with mushrooms in the way she envisioned. Drawing on her background in farm-to-lab formulation — honed during her time at one of the world’s leading fragrance and ingredient houses — she set out to develop a scalable method for cultivating her own organic mushrooms. The result was Verdoie’s regenerative farm, which brings together generations of mycological expertise, the skill of local growers, and advanced extraction techniques to produce the organic, nutrient-rich, pesticide-free mushrooms used in the brand’s formulations.

Verdoie officially launched in February 2025 with formulations built around four powerhouse mushrooms: Tremella for hydration, Chaga to calm, Shiitake to clarify, and Reishi for its adaptogenic benefits.
The brand debuted with La Crème Hydratante, a silky, lightweight moisturiser designed to soothe, nourish, and leave skin visibly plump. Clinically tested, the formula has been shown to boost epidermal hydration by 64.8% within just three hours of application.
In April, Verdoie introduced its second product: Le Complément Alimentaire, a skin supplement formulated to complement the moisturiser. Featuring a clinically backed blend of phyto-ceramides, antioxidants, and, of course, mushrooms, the supplement works internally to improve skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and protect against oxidative stress. Rooted in the French pharmacy tradition of la cure, the supplement is intended for short-term use — typically 30 to 90 days — when the skin requires added support due to heightened stress, seasonal changes, or other environmental factors.

Available individually or together as Le Shroom Stack Duo, this pairing targets the unpredictable effects of stress on the skin. When used together, skin becomes more hydrated, visibly soothed, and increasingly resilient over time.
Verdoie is available to UK and US customers online at verdoie.com, with prices starting at £67 ($88).
