Jean-Guillaume Trottier Named CEO of Biologique Recherche Group
French spa and skincare brand Biologique Recherche has named Estée Lauder Companies veteran Jean-Guillaume Trottier as its new Group CEO.
Co-owners and co-CEOs Pierre-Louis Delapalme and Rupert Schmid will hand over control after more than 15 years leading the brand. They will remain co-owners and Executive Board members, supporting Trottier in his new role.
Trottier has a wealth of experience, having spent his career working in the beauty industry. He spent three years at L’Oréal Group, followed by 19 at the Estée Lauder Companies (ELC). His time at ELC saw him named global president of Jo Malone in 2016 and global president of Darphin in 2019.
“We have decided that it’s time to hand over the leadership to write the next chapter of our Biologique Recherche success story. We are exceedingly happy and proud that one of the most talented leaders in the beauty industry is going to drive our future,” said Delapalme and Schmid in a joint statement. “Trottier boasts a rare combination of strong leadership skills, deep brand understanding, a passion for innovation and extensive international expertise.”
Biologique Recherche, best known for its cult P50 lotion, was founded in Paris in the late 1970s. The brand’s methodology is celebrated for its effectiveness, which is based on a clinical approach to beauty care using intentionally pure, concentrated, raw ingredients, as well as innovative and meticulous protocols and procedures.
“I am honoured to join Biologique Recherche and will build upon the unique DNA and heritage of the company while continuing to nurture a culture of high performance in our teams and products,” said Trottier. “I look forward to delivering the highest-level customised beauty experiences to grow the business.”
Trottier joins Biologique Recherche this month and, after a transition period, will take over as CEO in May 2024.
