Matter of Fact Arrives in the UK

Matter of Fact, the clinically backed, LA-based skincare brand, has arrived in the UK.
Backed by Next8 Investments — the beauty incubator behind Olaplex and K18 — Matter of Fact offers advanced biotech, combination-therapy skincare formulas designed to target multiple skin concerns in a single product.
Founded in 2018 by Paul Baek, the brand set out to “create products that work by providing both exceptional results and a beautiful experience for skin.” Each Matter of Fact product is personally formulated by Baek using Activsolv technology — a patent-pending system that allows active ingredients to be combined, dissolved, and stabilised at high concentrations. This enables the formulas to address multiple concerns with minimal irritation, while also enhancing efficacy, improving ingredient delivery, extending shelf life, and creating luxurious textures suitable for even the most sensitive skin.
To provide clear, evidence-backed insight into product performance, each finished product undergoes rigorous testing across three measures: dermatologist grading, third-party instrumental analysis, and consumer self-assessment.
“With Matter of Fact, you will always get thoughtfully formulated, research-backed products and straightforward clinical test results,” says Baek. “Some might call that being honest to a fault; we call it being Matter of Fact.”
The brand’s offering is split into two ranges: Active, housed in blue packaging, and Nourishing, presented in white. The Active range includes the Brightening + Firming Serum, Wrinkle + Texture Concentrate, Resurfacing + Hydrating Serum, and Maximalist Age-Defying Moisturiser. The Nourishing collection features the Minimalist Hydrating Moisturiser and Barrier + Antioxidant Treatment.
A hero within the Active range, the Brightening + Firming Serum harnesses 20% L-ascorbic acid to visibly brighten and even skin tone. With added ferulic acid, urea, and maritime pine complex, it helps protect against oxidative stress while brightening dark spots and supporting the skin barrier.
The Maximalist Age-Defying Moisturiser, another fan favourite, is a multitasking formula powered by peptides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, hexylresorcinol, and bakuchiol. It works to reduce pigmentation, target fine lines and wrinkles, and hydrate the skin — all while reinforcing the skin barrier for a visibly firmer, healthier-looking complexion.
A breakthrough in barrier support, the Minimalist Hydrating Moisturiser from the Nourishing range targets dryness and dehydration while strengthening the skin. Formulated with 5% pro-vitamin B5 (panthenol) and liquid crystal lipids, this lightweight moisturiser provides deep hydration, long-lasting moisture, and barrier support. Centella asiatica and liquorice root deliver additional antioxidant protection.
The Barrier + Antioxidant Treatment is a soothing oil blend formulated with squalane and liquid crystal lipids to hydrate and strengthen the skin. Turmeric root and RonaCare AP provide long-lasting protection against environmental aggressors while promoting a more even skin tone.
