NEWROAD: Your New Route to a Healthier Gut
Newroad is one of the wellness industry’s freshest arrivals, built around a singular aim: to help people eat a wider variety of plants — without overthinking it.
The brand was founded by Catherine Hurley Arbibe, who studied medicine at Oxford University before going on to find success as an international model. The idea grew from her fascination with the gut microbiome and the science linking plant diversity to long-term health.
Research from the British and American Gut Projects proved particularly influential for Arbibe. Studies found people who eat 30 or more different plant foods each week tend to have significantly more diverse gut microbiomes than those eating fewer than 10 — a marker increasingly linked to better digestion, immunity, mental clarity, and skin health.
“A few years ago I came across the gut microbiome and found it unbelievably clever and important, with all its far-reaching health implications,” says Arbibe. “When I looked at our own diet, I realised that although we were eating lots of fruit and vegetables, it was a narrow rotation of familiar foods, and virtually no pulses.”
That gap became the starting point for the brand’s debut supplement — Newroad 30, a freeze-dried, powdered blend of 30 different organic fruits, vegetables, and pulses, created as an easy way to boost weekly plant variety. Developed with scientists from the University of Oxford, INRAE Paris, and Queen’s University Belfast, the formula is designed to nourish the gut microbiome and support the gut-brain and gut-skin axes.
The naturally berry-flavoured powder is high in fibre, prebiotics, and polyphenols, and is a source of plant protein. Key ingredients include six different berries for antioxidant support, five different pulses such as lentils and beans for fibre and resistant starch, Jerusalem artichoke as a rich source of inulin, and cauliflower, a cruciferous vegetable known for supporting natural detoxification pathways.
“Discovering the power of the gut microbiome opened my eyes to just how profoundly it shapes our health,” she says. “When I realised our own diet lacked plant diversity, I created a freeze-dried blend of 30 organic fruits, vegetables, and pulses to make eating a wider range of plants effortless for everyone.”
Newroad 30 is free from additives, sweeteners, fillers, preservatives, and GMOs. It is minimally processed using freeze-drying to preserve nutrients — just whole foods, as close to their natural state as possible.
Designed to fit into everyday life, the supplement can be mixed into water, smoothies, and matcha; sprinkled over yoghurt or porridge; or enjoyed as a warm tea. Think of it as a low-effort way to support gut health, even on the busiest days.
The brand’s entire supply chain is 100% organic and Soil Association-approved, with ingredients sourced from long-term organic farming partners across France and Europe.
Newroad 30 is available at John Bell & Croyden and Daylesford Organic for £45 ($60). It can also be purchased online at newroad.life, shipping to both the UK and US.
