Puig Names Jose Manuel Albesa Chief Executive Officer

Puig has announced a significant restructuring of its leadership. Effective immediately, the company will split its top role into two, appointing long-time insider Jose Manuel Albesa as Chief Executive Officer, while Marc Puig transitions to the role of Executive Chairman.

The shift marks a departure from the combined Chairman-CEO model, a move the Board describes as aligning with “best practices for major listed companies.” It follows a thorough, year-long succession process that evaluated both internal and external talent.

The appointment of Albesa is a nod to continuity and deep-rooted brand understanding. Since joining the Spanish fragrance and fashion company in 1998, Albesa has been one of the primary architects of Puig’s aggressive international growth, most recently serving as Deputy CEO and Beauty and Fashion President. He has played a key role across the group’s fragrance and fashion portfolio, having managed global operations and brand development through a period of major growth.

Under the new structure, Marc Puig — who has led the family-controlled giant through its evolution into a public entity — will shift his focus toward high-level strategy and mergers and acquisitions. He remains the key custodian of the company’s heritage, overseeing important appointments and family values.

While the day-to-day operational weight now rests with Albesa, the two will work in tandem to ensure the strategic vision remains aligned.
