The Breakout Hack Lands in the UK

The Breakout Hack, formerly known as tbh Skincare, is the latest Australian-born skincare brand to land in the UK, launching exclusively at Boots.
The Aussie brand was founded in March 2020 by 22-year-old TikTok creator-turned-CMO Rachael Wilde and her mum, Bridget Mitchell. Their mission was to create a supportive, fun, and relatable acne space for their customers, something that felt personal to Rachael, who suffered her own 13-year battle with the skin condition.
“We wanted to create something for people who were tired of the standard, clinical solutions and wanted products that actually speak to them,” explains Wilde. “For so long, acne sufferers were stuck with boring pharmaceutical products that felt super impersonal, and the ‘fun’ brands weren’t delivering real results. The Breakout Hack is all about giving you both: products that actually work and a voice that says, ‘we get it’.”
When The Breakout Hack launched its vegan-friendly, acne-fighting formulas — free from benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and clinical jargon — it disrupted the Australian acne space. Amassing millions of likes on TikTok also helped establish the brand’s tight-knit online community and inspired its international expansion. “Launching in the UK is such a huge milestone for us,” says Wilde. “We’re big fans of the UK, and we’ve been excited to grow our community there for a long time. Being stocked at Boots feels like the perfect next step, and it means our customers can shop our products right off the shelf, all across the UK.”
The brand’s hero products include the Spot Cream and Spot Cleanser, which are both formulated to target acne-causing bacteria and promote a clearer complexion. Offering a non-drying and oil-free formula, the Spot Cream helps reduce redness associated with acne while preventing further breakouts. The hydrating Spot Cleanser removes dead skin cells and dissolves excess oil to deeply cleanse the skin and minimise the appearance of pores and blackheads, all while supporting the skin barrier.

Launching alongside the bestselling duo are the Rebound Serum and Rebound Skin Milk Activated Cica Toner, skin-barrier-supporting formulas developed in partnership with pharmaceutical scientist and skinfluencer Hannah English. The Rebound Skin Milk is formulated with cica madecassoside, bisabolol, ginger root extract, and D-panthenol to soothe and visibly calm the skin while reducing redness. The Rebound Skin Milk Activated Cica Toner includes centella asiatica extract and ceramides to calm angry, stressed-out skin and soothe sensitivity.
Other products in the UK line-up include:
- No Scrubs Jelly Cleanser: A jelly-to-milk formula designed to melt away makeup and SPF while cleansing the skin of oil and grime, unclogging pores without stripping.
- Thirst Trap Moisturiser: A lightweight yet deeply hydrating, non-greasy formula that provides skin-barrier support for all skin types without clogging pores.
- Patch It Up Multi-size Pimple Patches: A selection of multi-sized hydrocolloid patches designed to target blemishes of all shapes and sizes, prevent pimple-picking, and protect from external irritants. These patches help absorb pus and reduce redness overnight, while niacinamide and ascorbic acid work to reduce the appearance of post-acne pigmentation.
The Breakout Hack is now available in select Boots stores nationwide and online at boots.com, with prices ranging from £12.99 to £21.99. A US launch is expected soon.
