Tower 28 Makes Its First Move Into Bodycare
Tower 28 is expanding beyond the face with its first move into bodycare. Today the brand introduces SOS Rescue + Relief Body Wash — a product described as sitting at the intersection of everyday cleansing and dermatologist-backed treatment, with sensitive and eczema-prone skin firmly front of mind.
Like most products in the Tower 28 portfolio, this launch draws directly from the brand’s clinical roots and founder Amy Liu’s experience. Having lived with adult eczema, Liu has spoken openly about being advised to use bleach baths — a long-standing dermatological recommendation for conditions including eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, and acne. Although effective, the process is widely considered inconvenient and uncomfortable, creating a gap for a gentler, more practical alternative.
“As someone who’s lived with chronic eczema, I’ve been recommended just about every treatment out there, including bleach baths,” says Liu. “I know firsthand how harsh and uncomfortable they can be, which is why I wanted to create something that’s just as effective, but gentle and easy to use.”
Designed to function like a “medicated bath in a bottle,” the SOS Rescue + Relief Body Wash is derm-approved, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and pH-balanced. It’s formulated to cleanse like a standard body wash while supporting compromised skin, aiming to calm irritation and reinforce the skin barrier without the need for soaking or specialist routines.
Sodium hypochlorite is the star player in this formulation — an ingredient used in medical settings for centuries to help kill bacteria and prevent its spread. It also soothes inflammation, reduces redness, and strengthens the skin barrier. It’s supported by apple fruit extract, which helps skin retain moisture and defend against free radical damage, and cactus flower extract, known for its hydrating and texture-smoothing properties.
Those with sensitive-skin conditions can also rest assured they’ll experience no burning, stinging, or flare-ups — in fact, the formula has already received a triple seal of approval from the National Eczema Association, National Rosacea Society, and National Psoriasis Foundation.
SOS Rescue + Relief Body Wash is now available at Sephora, as well as online at tower28beauty.com. There is currently no word on a UK launch.
