Ocean-Powered Bodycare Brand Uni Lands in the UK

Uni has officially landed in the UK, available exclusively at Space NK.
Founded in 2022 by Australian entrepreneur Alexandra Keating, Uni is built on the principles of circular beauty and ocean conservation. The idea for the personal care brand began during a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef system and a place Keating visited frequently during her childhood. On that trip, Keating, now based in Los Angeles, learned about the harmful effects of personal care products on marine life.
According to the brand, the personal care industry accounts for one-third of the plastic that ends up in our oceans or landfill. But, as Keating discovered, packaging is only part of the problem. “When you visit the Great Barrier Reef, they ask you to wash off your sunscreen before entering the water; the reason being that it directly threatens the health of our coral reefs,” she told Vogue in 2022. “I discovered it’s not just sun care, it’s all products, and that was the moment I actually realized how toxic products are.”
This realisation became the driving force behind Uni: a next-gen bodycare brand that pairs reef-safe, science-led formulations with planet-positive packaging — a philosophy the brand calls Blue Beauty.

“Uni was designed to eradicate future production of toxins and plastic waste that enter the ocean through our products,” said Keating. “That meant looking at every aspect from upcycled ingredients to a new innovative system of reuse. But for Uni to make an impact, we had to make a product that people wanted, and it was clear to me that the opportunity was in performance-based products and innovative design.”
For packaging, Keating enlisted Marc Atlan, the French-born, LA-based creative director who has worked with the likes of Comme des Garçons, A.P.C., and Dior. After two and a half years of development, he unveiled a refillable system he describes as “sustainable but doesn’t compromise on elegance. It is unique, minimal and timeless.”
As part of its Blue Beauty commitment, all Uni bottles are made from 100% recycled aluminium — fully recyclable and entirely refillable. Cartons, inserts, and shipping boxes are crafted from FSC-certified paper, and the brand has been carbon neutral since day one. Each formula blends upcycled, organic, natural, and biotech ingredients, selected for performance and minimal environmental impact.
This commitment to sustainability extends beyond packaging and formulations. Uni donates 1% of all online sales to coral restoration efforts and has partnered with Coral Gardeners, a global organisation dedicated to restoring reefs through community engagement, innovation, and science.
Beyond sustainability, Uni draws on the richness of the ocean to deliver visible results. At the heart of each formula is the Uni Marine Complex: a proprietary blend of antioxidant- and mineral-rich marine actives and Australian super plants, designed to provide 24-hour hydration and skin nourishment.
“Cool, minimalist, and effortlessly chic, this is body care redefined,” said Emily Montila, Senior Skincare Buyer at Space NK. “We’re so proud to be the exclusive launch partner here in the UK and can’t wait for our customers to discover what makes Uni so special.”

Uni’s UK debut includes a curated range of bodycare essentials: a body wash, hand wash, body serum, and body oil. The brand’s hero product is the 24-Hour Serum, a face-grade body treatment powered by the Uni Marine Complex. It features Australian Kakadu plum and bladderwrack seaweed to support collagen production, organic aloe vera for moisture, and Australian lime caviar for gentle exfoliation.
The brand’s newest launch, the Golden Microalgae Body Oil, is a lightweight, non-greasy formula powered by golden microalgae to improve elasticity, smooth, and firm. Australian Kakadu plum oil, upcycled passionfruit oil, and Kalahari melon oil deeply nourish the skin, while fragrance notes of bright bergamot, white jasmine, and warm cashmere musk create an irresistible scent.
With prices starting at £29, Uni is available in Space NK stores nationwide and online at spacenk.com. In the US, the brand is stocked at Credo Beauty.
