Wellness Brand Epetōme Lands Multimillion-Pound Investment

Epetōme Synbiotic Duo Cap

Epetōme, the British gut health brand founded by nutritionist and author Emily English, has secured a multimillion-pound investment to fund its international expansion and clinical research.

The funding round was co-led by Active Partners and Redrice Ventures. The capital will be utilised to scale the brand globally and increase investment in clinical testing for probiotics and prebiotics, specifically aimed at advancing the understanding of their relationship with the human microbiome.

Founded in 2023, Epetōme has reported rapid growth within the UK supplements market, a sector often scrutinised for its lack of regulation. The brand has focused its positioning on integrity and evidence-led outcomes, securing a subscription-based customer base and celebrity backing within its first year of operation.

Its inaugural product, the Synbiotic Duo Cap, offers a clear expression of that clinical-first ethos — combining 11 carefully selected bacterial strains across seven species in a formula delivering 50 billion live organisms.

“Epetōme was created to set a new industry standard for gut health supplements, built with integrity, evidence and real outcomes in mind,” said English. “This funding marks an exciting next step for Epetōme, and it is only the beginning.”

English, best known as @emthenutritionist, is the author of two Sunday Times bestsellers, So Good and Live to Eat. Her third book is scheduled for release in May 2026. Before her social media presence, English established a health clinic specialising in gut health, which provided the clinical foundation for the brand.

Investors cited the transition of gut health from a niche trend to a mainstream priority as a key driver for the deal.

Billy Fox, Early-stage Investor at Active Partners, said: “Today’s consumers are more informed and purposeful about their wellbeing than ever before; they’re seeking products that deliver tangible, science-backed value. Our investment in Epetōme reflects our confidence in Emily and her team to meet this demand with an evidence-led product.”

“Epetōme represents the next generation of evidence-led gut health, combining science with real-world performance relevance,” added Alistair Brownlee OBE, associate partner at Redrice Ventures.

The Synbiotic Duo Cap is available at epetome.com, shipping to the UK and US.
