Alpha-H Expands Into Body Care

Alpha-H, the Australian beauty brand celebrated for its acid-packed, science-driven skincare, has expanded into body care.

Founded over two decades ago by Michelle Doherty, Alpha-H was born from her personal struggle with chronic acne in her late teens and 20s. Michelle pioneered the use of glycolic acid in skincare with the launch of the brand’s iconic, multi-award-winning Liquid Gold Exfoliating Treatment. This enduring best-seller, initially designed to extend the effects of in-clinic peels, successfully bridged the gap between professional treatments and at-home skincare.

The high-performance body care range debuts with one product, the Retinol Reboot Exfoliating Body Treatment, followed by a second launch in September. The new range targets multiple body skin concerns, including signs of ageing, sun damage, loss of elasticity, redness, and uneven texture (including keratosis pilaris).

This isn’t Alpha-H’s first foray into body care. “The brand launched several body care products over a decade ago when the need for active skincare ingredients and efficacy for the whole body was identified,” explained Tina Randello, Alpha-H CCO, “but we were a little ahead of our time!” She continues, “Through this experience we have learned much about what our customers want in their body care routines, and body care remains one of the most requested types of products we receive.”

In typical Alpha-H fashion, this collection is results-driven, prioritising efficacy over sensorial benefits such as scent. As Randello emphasises, “Our new body care products are not nice-smelling moisturisers for the body; in fact, they have been formulated not to interfere with your signature scent.”

The first product in the body care range, the Retinol Reboot Exfoliating Body Treatment, delivers the effectiveness of a clinical treatment with the luxurious feel of a body lotion. Intended for use up to three nights a week, it is designed to be applied from the neck down. Formulated to deliver smoother, firmer, and brighter skin in just two weeks, it is powered by a resurfacing cocktail of 1% encapsulated retinol (vitamin A), 8% glycolic acid, and 2% lactic acid. The fast-absorbing formula works while you sleep to reduce the appearance of fine lines, crepiness, redness, and uneven texture. Antioxidant-rich coenzyme Q10 is included alongside nourishing oils to protect the skin from free radical damage, support skin cell regeneration, and deeply hydrate.
