Balmain Beauty Launches Luxury Fragrance Collection
Six months after its fragrance teaser campaign, Balmain has officially introduced its first fragrance collection under its licensing agreement with The Estée Lauder Companies. The luxury fashion house’s inaugural collection, titled Les Éternels de Balmain, features eight all-gender eaux de parfums, each a reflection of the brand’s rich history and modern innovation under the guidance of Balmain’s Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing.
Inspired by Pierre Balmain’s Parisian legacy and Rousteing’s modern influence on fashion, the collection is crafted with a duality of ingredients that speak to the house’s commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and luxury. The eight multi-layered scents are divided into four distinct olfactive families: Musk, Amber, Floral, and Woody.
“Balmain Beauty gives you the freedom to live your truth, free and powerful. Beauty is about being yourself and having the confidence to embrace who you are,” said Rousteing. “Fashion cannot exist without beauty, and beauty cannot exist without fashion. Beauty is part of your silhouette, of who you are, just like the way you dress. I want to represent all the beauties of the world and welcome everyone without exceptions.”
Olivier Rousteing, who immersed himself in the world of perfumery by studying and learning the creation process through hands-on training, played a pivotal role in every aspect of the collection’s development. He consulted Balmain’s storied archives to reimagine four of Balmain’s legacy scents—Vent Vert, Ivoire, Ébène, and Carbone—bringing them into the modern era. These iconic scents are complemented by four new fragrances—Sel d’Ambre, Rouge, Bronze, and Bleu Infini—which complete the collection.
