Bare la Terre Is the Latest Brand to Join the Tween Skincare Boom
Ever since ‘Sephora kids’ went viral in early 2024, a wave of brands has emerged promising to protect young skin and steer Gen Alpha away from the acid-rich, active-heavy products designed for fully developed skin. From Coco Granderson’s Yes Day and Salish Matter’s Sincerely Yours to Prereq and Evereden, a number of brands have launched in the past six months alone, signalling a total shift in how the industry is starting to approach youth beauty.
Joining this movement is Bare la Terre, a new dermatologist-developed brand designed for the ‘in-betweens’ — the kids who have outgrown childish creams but are not quite ready for the intense world of teen skincare.
Dr. Mariana Noy, a consultant dermatologist in paediatric and adult dermatology, helped develop the range. It was built on the belief that growing skin does not need a 10-step routine but instead requires a barrier-first approach. “In-between skin benefits most from gentle, barrier-supporting care rather than complex routines,” she explains. “Simple formulations, used thoughtfully, can help keep skin calm, hydrated, and balanced as it develops. Bare la Terre has been created with this in mind, offering a considered approach designed specifically for this often-overlooked stage of skin development.”
The debut collection focuses on three essentials designed to build healthy habits without the risk of irritation. The Bubble Bare Foaming Cleanser (£22) is a pH-balanced daily wash that clears away sweat and SPF using coconut-derived cleansers, niacinamide, and provitamin B5. For hydration, the Teddy Bare Moisturiser (£25) offers a lightweight, non-greasy formula featuring colloidal oats, and vitamin E. To round out the edit, the Sleepy Bare Lip Rescue (£18) uses shea butter, and peach kernel oils to lock in moisture overnight.
In a fast-growing tween market, Bare la Terre is setting itself apart with a strong sustainability focus. Much of the range uses Vivomer, a next-generation material that’s 100% bio-based and home compostable. Made from bacteria that feed on plant waste, it works like plastic but breaks down fully without leaving microplastics behind. Where compostable options aren’t yet possible, such as with the cleanser, the brand uses 100% mono-material recyclable plastic instead.
