BDK Parfums Lands Investment from LVMH Luxury Ventures

LVMH Luxury Ventures Fund has acquired a minority stake in BDK Parfums, marking the first external investment for the Paris-based niche fragrance house since its launch in June 2016.

The investment is intended to accelerate BDK’s expansion across key international retail markets while preserving the brand’s creative independence and operational control. LVMH Luxury Ventures, which targets high-growth luxury brands, adds BDK to a portfolio that includes Our Legacy, Gabriela Hearst, and Molli, as well as Officine Universelle Buly, which is now fully owned by LVMH.

BDK, known for scents such as Gris Charnel and Rouge Smoking, has grown rapidly over the past year, reporting a 45 percent increase in sales versus 2024. The brand now operates in around 45 countries, including France, the US, and Germany, with further expansion underway across Southeast Asia.

Founded by David Benedek, BDK builds on decades of family fragrance heritage; his grandparents opened a perfume shop in Paris in 1959, later run by his parents. Benedek established the brand after recognising the rising demand for artisanal and niche fragrances, positioning BDK as a contemporary perfume studio rooted in classical French perfumery traditions.

BDK’s portfolio spans 23 genderless perfumes, hair fragrances, candles, laundry care, and soon, body lotions and shower gels in several of its bestselling scents. All products are made in France.

The brand collaborates with a wide roster of renowned perfumers. Alongside frequent partners Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo, Jordi Fernández, Alexandra Carlin, and Mathilde Bijaoui, BDK has worked with Ralf Schwieger, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, Julien Rasquinet, Amélie Bourgeois, Violaine Collas, Cécile Matton, Camille Leguay, Serge Majoullier, Marie Schnirer, and Margaux Le Paih Guérin. Its fragrances have received multiple industry accolades, including honours from the Fragrance Foundation.

Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
