Beyoncé to Launch Hair Care Line

Beyoncé to Launch a Hair Care Line

Beyoncé has announced the launch of her own hair care line, Cécred, on February 20th.

In a newly-released teaser trailer posted on Instagram, the 29-time Grammy Award winner shared home movie footage of her mother’s old salon Headliners, where Beyoncé worked her first job sweeping hair. Intermixed with the archival footage are clips of hair being washed, silk pressed, and braided. The caption reads, “Hair is sacred. The journey begins Feb. 20. Visit CECRED.COM”.

This announcement comes nine months after Beyoncé hinted at the release of a hair care line with a series of photos on Instagram. In one photo, Beyoncé is shown curling her hair surrounded by what looked like product samples. Another shows a handwritten note that reads, “How many of y’all knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon? Destiny’s Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done. I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy. I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.”

Specific details about Cécred and the products it will offer are yet to be revealed. However, a trademark request filed in 2022 covers a range of products including candles, vitamin supplements, hair care preparations, electric hair styling tools, combs, and hair accessories.
