Blake Lively is Launching Her Own Haircare Brand

Blake Lively with Blake Brown Products

Blake Lively’s blonde, bouncy locks have been the envy of many since she first graced our screens as Serena van der Woodsen in 2007. So it should surprise no one that the 36-year-old actor has dedicated the past seven years to developing her own haircare brand, Blake Brown, which is set to launch exclusively at Target on August 4th.

“Blake Brown has been more than a 7-year labor of love,” said Lively. “I was determined to bottle up a premium, salon-quality haircare line that’s cleaner, cruelty free, easier, yummier, more sustainable and more accessible than anything I saw out there. As she reiterated on Instagram, “I wanted something that was more affordable but had the same salon/red carpet performance.”

The philosophy behind Blake Brown centres on a delicate balance of strength and moisture, achieved through a hair routine that alternates between strengthening and nourishing treatments. When developing the brand, Lively looked to her own routine of shampoos, masks, and styling products for inspiration. As she explained on Instagram, “I’ve found a system that has worked wonders for me, a hack of sorts through decades of working with the very best people in the industry, and silly amounts of trial and error.”

Blake Brown will launch with eight products, each formulated with clean ingredients to nourish, strengthen, and style hair. The lineup includes Fundamental Nourishing Shampoo, Fundamental Nourishing Mask, Fundamental Strengthening Shampoo, Fundamental Strengthening Mask, All-In-wONEder Leave-In Potion, The Dry Shampoo, Glam Mousse, and Rich Reset Pre-ShampooMask. Priced between $18.99 and $24.99, all products are vegan, cruelty-free, and created with minimal waste. Additionally, the packaging is made from recycled materials, emphasising the brand’s commitment to sustainability.

Surprisingly, the Blake Brown lineup won’t include a traditional conditioner. According to Lively, forgoing conditioner is the secret to her incredible hair—and apparently, she’s not alone. “I don’t know anyone who uses conditioner in my industry,” she told Vogue. Nevertheless, the brand’s Nourishing and Strengthening masks are designed to seamlessly integrate into any hair routine, effectively replacing the role of conditioner for those who feel it’s necessary.

Creating a fragrance profile for the products was important to Lively, who wanted to inject a multi-sensorial journey into the brand. As she wrote on Instagram, “I also wanted scents that felt like fragrances I would actually buy as high end perfume.” Developed by best-in-class master perfumers, the scents are each inspired by Blake’s personal and can be layered or used separately to help hair leave a lasting impression.

Blake Brown will be exclusively available in Target stores and on target.com from 4th August, followed by blakebrownbeauty.com on 5th August. Information regarding a UK launch is yet to be announced.
