Experimental Perfume Club Expands into Home Fragrance

Experimental Perfume Club Home Fragrance Candles

London-based fine fragrance house, Experimental Perfume Club (EPC), has taken its distinctive concept of fragrance layering beyond personal scent with the launch of its first home fragrance collection. The line features three candles designed to be layered, introducing a new sensory dimension to the brand’s innovative approach to scent creation.

Founded in 2016 by classically trained French perfumer Emmanuelle Moeglin, EPC has built a reputation for making bespoke perfumery more accessible. Its flagship store in London’s Seven Dials integrates a lab, workshop space, and retail area, offering visitors the chance to explore the art of fragrance creation.

“Expanding into home fragrance felt like a natural evolution,” says Moeglin. “Our customers have increasingly expressed a desire to bring the EPC experience into their living spaces, which inspired us to explore this new avenue. We see a great opportunity in the market for a more personal approach to home fragrance—something that allows people to express themselves just as they do with personal perfume.”

The brand’s home fragrance collection includes three candles inspired by EPC’s best-selling Essential Collection fragrances: Cardamom Moss, Tonka Sesame, and Cedarwood Absinthe. Each candle, priced at £65 ($85), corresponds to a segment of the fragrance pyramid—top, mid, and base notes—allowing consumers to enjoy the candles individually or in combination to create up to seven unique fragrance profiles. For those who want to combine candles, a set of three minis is available for £95 ($125).

At the top of the fragrance pyramid is Cardamom Moss, a spicy, mineral scent that combines zingy ginger, warm turmeric, and cool cardamom, with the depth of cinnamon and Ambroxan. Mosses and velvety, salt-tinged woods add a touch of sophistication.

Tonka Sesame sits at the middle, a gourmand and nutty fragrance featuring green hazelnuts, almonds, and tonka beans. Earthy patchouli and cedarwood ground this rich blend, offering comfort and indulgence.

At the pyramid’s base is Cedarwood Absinthe, a bold herbaceous and leathery fragrance that blends wormwood oil, Cypriol roots, Virginia and Atlas cedar, and patchouli. It transitions from fresh to a rich, woody-tobacco signature.

Each candle is housed in a reusable ceramic container, reflecting the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The wax blend includes 40% plant-based ingredients enriched with shea butter, providing a smooth, even diffusion and a luxurious texture.

As a certified B Corporation, EPC remains committed to eco-conscious practices. “Our candles are crafted with care in small batches, staying true to our commitment to conscious crafting and quality,” explains Moeglin. “They are made in France using a blend that includes natural wax, aligning with our B Corp values of sustainability and transparency. We are dedicated to using responsibly sourced ingredients and manufacturing processes that minimise environmental impact while providing a high-quality sensory experience. The small-batch approach ensures attention to detail, while also reducing waste and maintaining a thoughtful approach to production. This ethos of conscious crafting is central to our mission, and we believe it’s what sets our products apart in a crowded market.”
