Epicutis has secured a $25 million minority investment from GroundForce Capital. The funding will support the US skincare brand’s plans to expand its presence across dermatology practices, medispas, and luxury spas, while also going towards product development and wider brand awareness.

Founded by Maxwell Stock in partnership with Princeton University biophysicist Dr Jeffry Stock, Epicutis brings a research-heavy approach to product development. Its formulas are built around a small group of proprietary, patented molecules developed in-house, including TSC, HYVIA, and DSD, rather than long ingredient lists or trend-led actives. Product development is led by Masanori Tamura, who previously spent more than a decade at Rohto Pharmaceuticals and worked on Japanese skincare brand Hada Labo.

“Epicutis exists because we believed skincare deserved real science — actives discovered in the lab, published in the literature, and trusted by practitioners before they ever reach a shelf,” said Maxwell Stock. “GroundForce understood that discipline from our very first conversation. This partnership lets us move faster on everything that matters: the discovery pipeline behind the brand, the professional channel we intend to lead, and the standard of proof we hold ourselves to.”

GroundForce Capital already backs consumer brands including Liquid Death, Bobbie, OWYN, Vive Organic, and Thistle. As part of the deal, the investment firm will also join Epicutis’s board.

“Epicutis has built something rare in skincare: a genuinely differentiated scientific platform paired with the sales execution to bring it to market at scale,” said Dan Gluck, Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of GroundForce Capital. “Max and the team have earned the trust of practitioners the hard way, one account at a time, and we’re proud to back that discipline as Epicutis enters its next phase of growth.”

Epicutis is available through selected clinics across the UK and US. In the UK, customers can also shop the range at skinstation.co.uk, while US customers can purchase directly from epicutis.com.
