Mandarin Oriental to Open Luxury Cliffside Resort in Bali
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced plans to manage a luxury retreat with private residences on the Bukit peninsula, known for its dramatic coastline, white sandy beaches, imposing cliff-tops, and varied landscapes.
Positioned to redefine luxury living on Bali’s southern coast, Mandarin Oriental, Bali will be perched on a cliffside plateau of elevated terraces, providing sweeping panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and direct access to a secluded and protected white-sand beach. Visitors can look forward to infinity pools and cliff-edge dining options, alongside wellness experiences nestled in the cliffs to provide a rejuvenating escape.
The contemporary resort, designed by Design Lab architects, esteemed interior designer Jeffrey Wilkes, and renowned landscaper Bill Bensley, aims to capture the essence of Balinese culture and craftsmanship, blending seamlessly into the breathtaking scenery that surrounds it.

The property will feature 110 suites and villas, each designed to blend in with the natural surroundings. Properties will enjoy private terraces or gardens, with most featuring private pools. Unique dining experiences will include a cliff-edge restaurant and bar, a speciality Chinese restaurant, a speakeasy bar, and a beach club, featuring the best of Indonesian and international cuisine.
The all-inclusive Spa at Mandarin Oriental will serve as a serene sanctuary, offering the richest menu of wellness, beauty, and massage treatments in the area. Spa goers will be able to experience Mandarin Oriental’s signature programs and treatments specially created based on Balinese traditions. Other amenities will include heat and water therapies, outdoor swimming pools with private lifestyle cabanas, and a large fitness centre.
Facilities also include a dedicated Kids Club, tennis and padel courts, a beach club with water sports, an organic garden, and a sustainability lab. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the resort’s proximity to the renowned Bukit Pandawa Golf Course and the prestigious Bali National Golf Club.
The branded Residences will comprise 68 private villas, ranging from three to six bedrooms, each with access to a dedicated clubhouse featuring lounge facilities, coworking space, function spaces, and family areas, along with a private gym and swimming pool. Residents will also have access to the wider resort facilities.
