Martha Stewart Launches Elm Biosciences

After five years in the making, Martha Stewart has finally unveiled Elm Biosciences, the skincare brand she co-founded alongside board-certified dermatologist Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali.

The 84-year-old lifestyle mogul and long-time patient of Dr. Bhanusali became closely involved in the brand from its early days, quietly testing prototypes that soon formed part of her daily routine.

“I set out years ago to take care of my skin,” says Stewart. “Along the way, I met Dr. Bhanusali, and we started doing our research and development to create a skincare line unlike any other. I have been using our products for the last five years in all developmental iterations, and I must say I am extremely pleased with the results.”

Dr. Bhanusali is a board-certified dermatologist, laser surgeon, and biotech entrepreneur. He is the founder of Skin Medicinals, the largest pharmatech platform in dermatology, the dermatologist-in-residence at Rhode, and is known for having pioneered the integration of molecular dermatology with real-world product application.

“Elm was created to solve a clear problem: the science has evolved, but most skincare hasn’t,” explains Dr. Bhanusali. “Our goal is to bring novel molecules and complexes to skincare that reset the expectations we have for what products can do. While Martha has always led in ‘farm to table’, Elm is our answer to ‘lab to consumer’.”

Backed by an advisory board of more than 350 dermatologists, scientists, and medical researchers, Elm Biosciences sets out to redefine skincare innovation, beginning with antioxidants. The brand debuts with a dual-pathway system designed to address both the internal and external drivers of ageing.

The A3O Elemental Serum ($135) is powered by the brand’s signature A3O Complex, a triple-pathway antisenescent molecule engineered to target UV damage, pigmentation, dehydration, and irritation, while remaining gentle enough for sensitive skin.

The Inner Dose Daily Skin Supplement ($50) works from within, addressing internal ageing triggers such as inflammation, oxidative stress, and hormonal imbalance to help strengthen skin’s foundation.
