Ralph Lauren Taps Usher for Its Newest Scent

Usher has been announced as the new face of Ralph’s Club New York Eau de Parfum, the latest launch from Ralph Lauren Fragrances. It marks the eight-time Grammy Award winner’s first-ever fragrance campaign.

With a career and cultural relevance spanning more than three decades, Usher remains one of music’s most influential figures. From 80 million records sold to a record-setting Las Vegas residency and his sold-out Past Present Future world tour, his success, sophistication, and magnetic presence make him a fitting choice for Ralph Lauren’s latest fragrance campaign.

Off stage, he’s built a lasting legacy of mentorship and advocacy through his New Look Foundation. Launched more than 20 years ago, the organisation has supported over 60,000 young people through leadership training and career development programmes — further cementing his status as a modern Ralph Lauren gentleman.

The fragrance, created by Nadège Le Garlantezec and Shyamala Maisondieu, draws inspiration from Manhattan’s golden age while capturing the energy of the city today. An ambery fougère, it opens with blackcurrant, bergamot, and green mandarin; evolves into a heart of lavender, geranium, and sandalwood; and settles into a base of oak moss, balsam fir, and bourbon vanilla.

“I really do feel like the scent represents something that feels sophisticated, bold, and commanding in the way where when you walk into a room and people smell it, there’s an identity and there’s something that people remember,” Usher told People. “There’s something that plays in these two spaces, casual and formal. It works.”
