The UK’s First-Ever Sauna Boat Arrives in London

Skuna Boats has unveiled its latest innovation: the UK’s first-ever Sauna Boat. Taking up permanent residence at Skuna HQ in Canary Wharf, this Scandinavian-inspired wellness destination marks a new chapter in the brand’s mission to reimagine London’s social experiences on the water.
Founded in 2017, Skuna has built a loyal following with its unique floating experiences, including a Floating Cinema, Floating Igloo Fondue Boats, Hot Tub Boats, and BBQ Boats. The Sauna Boat, launching on 26 April to coincide with World Sauna Day, is the company’s most ambitious concept yet, with plans to expand to other UK locations in the near future.
“Our vision is not only to bring the powerful health and wellness benefits of saunas and cold plunges to London, but also to embrace the sauna’s Scandinavian roots — where the social aspect plays a central role,” said Stuart Thomson, founder of Skuna Boats.
Designed to rejuvenate both body and mind while fostering connection, the boat combines wellness with community, featuring a 70–90°C wood-fired sauna, a 6°C rooftop cold plunge pool, DJ-curated music, and purchasable refreshments — all set against the striking backdrop of London’s Docklands.

To develop the concept, the Skuna team travelled across Scandinavia, immersing themselves in traditional sauna culture to inform every design detail. The result is a first-of-its-kind vessel built for comfort, featuring high-performance sauna interiors, a carefully engineered temperature system, and a perfect balance of heat and cold to create a revitalising experience.
Open year-round, sessions last 60 minutes (including time to change), with prices starting from £15.50 per person.
The Sauna Boat will launch on 26 April, with booking available online at bookings.skunaboats.com.
