Tom Ford Beauty Names Angelina Jolie as Ambassador
Tom Ford Beauty has announced Angelina Jolie as the face of its new Runway Lip Color, marking the brand’s first-ever celebrity beauty ambassador. Jolie, familiar with high-profile brand partnerships, previously served as an ambassador for Shiseido in 2007 and Guerlain in 2017, fronting the Mon Guerlain fragrance.
“An inveterate trailblazer, Jolie drives her personal narrative with strength, confidence and an uncompromising commitment to self-expression.” the brand said in a statement.
As Tom Ford’s new beauty ambassador, the multi-award-winning actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian will star in a campaign shot by renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Set to debut on September 3rd, the campaign is described as a cinematic homage to feminine beauty and power, portraying Jolie as she prepares for a role—“a character that loves the camera almost as much as it loves her.”
In the campaign, Jolie wears the Runway Lip Color 16 Scarlet Rouge, which she described to WWD as having “a beautiful color and texture.” The Runway Lip Color, formulated with a hydrating complex, is designed to condition lips with “decadent emollience and rich, fade-resistant color.” The collection, set for release in September, will feature 18 shades, including 10 existing colors and 8 new ones.
Tom Ford joins several beauty brands in appointing high-profile ambassadors this year. Versace named Channing Tatum as the new face of Eros fragrances, Dior announced Rihanna as the new ambassador for J’Adore, and Kiko Milano signed Emma Roberts as its Global Brand Ambassador.
