Tom Ford Names Tilda Swinton Brand Ambassador

Tom Ford has announced British actress Tilda Swinton as its newest brand ambassador, fronting the launch of its new fragrance, Black Orchid Reserve.
“It is a profound honour for me to play a part in the history of Tom Ford’s legendary Black Orchid. Transformation, the blurring of boundaries and the celebration of magical properties have always drawn me close; Black Orchid Reserve is precisely such an enchantment,” said Swinton.
An Academy Award, BAFTA, and Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement winner, Swinton is recognised for her distinctive approach to film, art, and performance. Her career has been defined by roles that challenge convention and cement her reputation as one of Hollywood’s most versatile actors. This autumn, she will appear opposite Colin Farrell in Edward Berger’s Ballad of a Small Player.
The campaign, set to launch on 1 September, was designed by Tom Ford’s creative director Haider Ackermann and shot by Inez and Vinoodh.
First introduced in 2006, Black Orchid was Tom Ford’s debut fragrance and quickly became a cult favourite, celebrated for its rich, gourmand scent. The new Black Orchid Reserve reimagines the signature chypre floral with a deeper, darker intensity. Ylang ylang adds brightness, lifted by timut pepper, while roasted tonka and black truffle bring warmth and earthy depth. Patchouli and amber anchor the base, shaping a scent that feels layered and textured.
What most sets Black Orchid Reserve apart from the original is the addition of the Ghost Orchid, one of the world’s rarest flowers. Captured at bloom using headspace technology, it introduces a fresh white floral note that plays against the darker accords, giving Tom Ford’s most recognisable scent an alluring new contrast.
Black Orchid Reserve is now available in three sizes, 50ml, 100ml, and 250ml, with prices ranging from £135 to £520 ($205 to $890).
