Founded by beauty industry veteran Nico Morga Alden, Alta Marea — meaning ‘high tide’ — draws on the legend of Sant’Andrea, in which a sudden storm rose from the sea to protect Amalfi. It’s a love letter to the Amalfi Coast, and to the idea that suncare should feel like a ritual rather than a requirement.

After years of shaping some of the biggest names in beauty, Alden noticed a gap on the suncare shelves. She felt customers were limited to uninspiring clinical formulas or trendy products that looked cute on a shelf but lacked any real scientific credibility.

While the aesthetic gives Mediterranean chic, the science-led formulas are doing the heavy lifting. The entire range is formulated and made in Italy, featuring biomimetic peptides designed to mimic your skin’s collagen pathways, essentially giving you retinol-style renewal without the irritation. Formulas are also packed with wild rosemary, myrtle, and coastal botanicals to hydrate, balance, and protect against free radicals.

The collection launches with a trio of essentials, each priced at £34: La Luce Daily Sun Serum SPF 50, La Seta Sheer Sun Silk SPF 50, and La Crema Nourishing Body Milk.
