POV Beauty Closes Series A Round

Mikayla Nogueira’s POV Beauty has new backers. The brand, which she co-founded with beauty executive Ani Hadjinian, has closed a Series A round led by Silas Capital, the firm behind investments in Makeup By Mario and Ilia Beauty. Rédo Capital also took part, alongside early investor Imaginary Ventures, though the amount hasn’t been disclosed. According to the brand, the money will help build its presence at Sephora, grow the team, expand on TikTok Shop, and fund new products, with launches expected in the coming months. The Skin Prep Behind the Victoria’s Secret Glow

Ever wondered how the Angels get that runway radiance? Before Sunday’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, a good chunk of the lineup spent time in the chair of celebrity aesthetician Mimi Luzon. Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Irina Shayk, Joan Smalls, and Precious Lee were all on her list, and no two facials were the same. Luzon tailored each one to the model in front of her, mixing advanced tech with exosomes, peptides, and 24K gold, and she says there’s no downtime. Her goal wasn’t just glow. She was after skin that looks firm, smooth, and hydrated, but never oily or overly dewy — the “perfect canvas” for makeup, lighting, and cameras.

How Kendall Jenner’s Academy Gala French Twist Was Done

Kendall Jenner went full old-Hollywood polish at Saturday’s Academy Gala, wearing a sleek French twist by hairstylist Gregory Russell. He says her Valentino gown was the starting point, and he wanted something “timeless and sophisticated, with a modern finish”. First came a clean centre parting and a smooth blow-dry using the Ghd Speed hair dryer and Ghd Ceramic Vented Radial Brush. He then curled the ends with the Ghd Chronos Curve Grand curling iron to give the hair some shape. After that, he brushed it back into the twist, leaving two front pieces out to fold in at the end. A light mist of hairspray held it all in place.

Marshique Lands in the US

Korean patch brand Marshique has crossed the Atlantic — or rather, the Pacific — with a debut at Ulta Beauty. Its full collection went live on ulta.com on 18 October, and more than 500 stores will stock it from 1 November. The range is built around targeted patches, each made for a specific spot: frown lines, smile lines, forehead, eye area, or neck. The brand says they work on the look of wrinkles in those areas, while separate lifting patches are aimed at facial contours. Its eyelash serum, one of Marshique’s core products in Korea, is part of the lineup too. The brand hopes to make ‘K-patch’ as recognisable as K-beauty itself. UK shoppers can already find the brand at amazon.co.uk.

RéVive’s Latest Launches Hit the UK

Two of RéVive’s newest formulas have made it to the UK after launching in the US over the summer. The Renewal Rescue Elixir Light Oil, which arrived stateside in July, is a lighter, gel-oil take on the original Rescue Elixir Oil that RéVive says is designed for ages 25 to 35. It pairs the brand’s proprietary renewal peptide with HPR, a gentler type of retinoid, plus four hyaluronic acid derivatives. The Renewal Brightening Eye Serum followed in August, combining the same peptide with vitamin C, niacinamide, and caffeine to target dullness and tired-looking eyes. Both are available now at reviveskincare.com.

Modern Magic Rebrands and Heads to Target

New York fragrance house Modern Magic has a fresh look and a much bigger platform. The independent brand, part of Slate Brands, is now stocked in 611 Target Beauty Studio locations and online at target.com. The move marks its largest retail rollout to date. Rather than selling status or seduction, Modern Magic says its scents are made for the small, private moments nobody else sees, like a quiet morning or a solo walk home. The full genderless collection is on shelf, including two new fragrances, Anything Rose and Watercolor.
