Since its launch in 2022, Byoma has been the go-to brand for barrier care, but its latest launch sees it step into a whole new category: future-proofing. The brand’s new Longevit-8 Peptide Serum taps into the rising prejuvenation trend: supporting skin early to help prevent premature ageing, rather than dealing with visible changes once they hit. Think of it as a powerful, no-needle way to help keep skin plump and youthful.

The serum is led by the new GHK-Cu Longevity Matrix, a blend of copper tripeptide, niacinamide, vitamin E, Argireline, and Matrixyl 3000. Phyto-PDRN and NMN are included alongside Byoma’s signature Tri-Ceramide Complex to help reinforce the barrier and lock in moisture. The serum also uses an ultra-smart, lightweight oil-in-water delivery system that drives these potent actives deep into the skin without disrupting your barrier.

Testing has shown the serum to boost natural collagen by 225% and offer 1.76 times the collagen-boosting efficacy of retinal — it’s basically doing the heavy lifting without the annoying dryness or irritation (we’re sold). It also delivered impressive results across eight visible skin measures, including barrier strength, hydration, firmness, and wrinkle depth.

What’s interesting here, though, is that Byoma is going deeper than surface-level results. The brand commissioned a placebo-controlled, 12-week study with molecular dermatology professor Mark Birch-Machin to examine mitochondrial DNA — the DNA found inside the parts of cells that generate energy. As skin ages and faces environmental stress, that DNA can become damaged, which can affect how cells function.

Byoma says the study found that Longevit-8 Peptide Serum protected mitochondrial DNA in skin from those under 40 and reduced existing mitochondrial DNA damage in skin from those over 40. The findings are currently being submitted for peer review.

“From the beginning, we wanted Byoma to be more than a skincare brand — we’re building a skin health company for the next generation. That starts with understanding skin at a much deeper level. We’ve now captured and analysed more than 157,000 individual skin measurements and conducted 120 clinical studies, and that growing body of evidence is shaping what we develop and how we innovate,” said Marc Elrick, founder and CEO of Byoma.

“Longevit-8 Peptide Serum is a clear example: taking what we’ve learned about the biology of skin and translating it into an approach to skin longevity that is designed to act earlier, not simply correct what has already happened. Our ambition is to take that level of evidence out of the lab, away from prestige price points and make it accessible to everyone. I believe Longevit-8 Peptide Serum is the biggest breakthrough in skin longevity.”

So Byoma is not ditching its barrier-first roots. It’s just taking it somewhere new: into skincare designed to keep skin in its best possible shape for longer.

The Longevit-8 Peptide Serum (£21.99 / $25.99) is available now at Boots in the UK, and Ulta Beauty in the US.
