Dr. Groot Is Going Big in the US

Dr. Groot products

K-beauty haircare favourite Dr. Groot is heading to Sephora — marking a major expansion for the brand and its entry into the prestige beauty space. And anyone chasing thicker-looking hair might want to pay attention.

From April 1, the brand’s growth-supporting, scalp-first formulas will land on sephora.com before rolling out into physical stores on May 15. The range will debut in select US locations before expanding to most Sephora stores across the country throughout 2026.

While the name might be new to some shoppers, the science behind the brand runs deep. Dr. Groot launched in 2017 but draws on more than 50 years of hair and scalp research from LG Household & Health Care (LG H&H). Central to the brand’s approach is its microbiome technology, designed to rebalance the scalp environment — widely considered the starting point for stronger, healthier-looking hair.

The brand first entered the US via Amazon in 2023 and quickly picked up a following for formulas that tackle stubborn oil and product build-up (aka the reason your roots sometimes feel greasy two hours after washing). The dermatology-led approach has also caught the attention of Hollywood stylist Mark Townsend, whose client list includes Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Lawrence, and the Olsen twins.

Among the products landing at Sephora is the Scalp Revitalising Solution Hair Thickening Shampoo, a cleanser designed to remove build-up while boosting hydration and helping hair look fuller from the root. Also joining the lineup is the Scalp Revitalising Solution Miracle In-Shower Treatment — a five-second formula created to nourish the scalp while helping reduce hair loss caused by breakage.

The move taps into the growing obsession with scalp care, as more shoppers treat their hair routine with the same skin-first mindset as their skincare.

“Launching at Sephora is an incredibly meaningful step for Dr. Groot,” says James Yoo, Marketing Director at Dr. Groot. “This marks the brand’s first national prestige retail rollout. Sephora has long been a destination for beauty lovers seeking innovation and performance, and we’re excited to introduce our approach to hair and scalp care to customers who value both efficacy and experience.”

Dr. Groot is one of several brands launching at Sephora this year, alongside biotech brand Mother Science, Claudia Sulewski’s Cyklar, and fellow K-beauty favourite Laka.

For UK readers curious to try the range, Dr. Groot is also available via Amazon.
