More Than Nine Is Making Pregnancy Skincare A Lot Less Complicated
When you’re pregnant or postpartum, the skincare aisle can feel especially overwhelming. Beyond figuring out what’s best for your skin during this period, there’s endless conflicting advice about what you can and can’t use. A new brand called More Than Nine wants to change that.
Founded by board-certified dermatologist, dermatopathologist, published researcher, and mum of three Dr Aegean Chan, More Than Nine has been created specifically for the realities of motherhood, from pregnancy and postpartum through the years that follow.
After spending years translating complex dermatology research into practical advice, Dr Chan found herself facing the same confusion as everyone else when she became a mum. Existing products often leaned into fear-based marketing, while advice surrounding skincare ingredients was frequently contradictory or rooted in outdated myths. So, she decided to create the products she wished had existed during her own pregnancies. As the brand puts it: “Think of it as skincare from your derm friend who’s been exactly where you are.”
Unlike many pregnancy-focused skincare ranges, More Than Nine isn’t limited to nine months. Instead, it’s designed to support hormonal skin changes long after bringing baby home, with straightforward routines that work whether you’ve got three minutes to spare or — if you’re lucky — an entire self-care evening.
Every formula is non-comedogenic and developed with evidence-backed ingredients. The brand also promises simple, multi-purpose products without unnecessary steps.
The debut collection includes four products: Take a Sec Cleanser, a creamy one-step formula that removes makeup without the need for double cleansing; Look Alive Exfoliator, a gentle enzyme and PHA powder exfoliant designed to brighten tired-looking skin; Go-To Moisturizer, a lightweight barrier-supporting cream formulated with ceramides, niacinamide, and Kakadu plum; and Everything is Fine Balm, a multi-use treatment for dry lips, nipples, and anywhere else that needs extra nourishment.
The brand is also launching the You Did It Bag, a thoughtfully curated hospital kit inspired by the care package Dr Chan created for herself and friends while they were all preparing to give birth. Rather than focusing on baby essentials, it’s packed with practical products designed to help new mums feel a little more like themselves in those first hours and days after delivery.
Alongside its product range, More Than Nine is introducing ‘Is This OK?’, an editorial content hub where Dr Chan answers common questions about skincare during pregnancy and postpartum.
More Than Nine is now available at morethannine.com, with prices starting at $18, shipping across the US.
