Sensitive skincare has spent years looking a little too serious. The category has often leaned clinical, cautious, and, let’s be honest, a little joyless. Nouri Bay is a new British skincare brand hoping to change things, with formulas designed for easily irritated skin that still feel indulgent.

The brand’s origins trace back to the pandemic, when founder Rianne started making small-batch formulas at home for her own sensitive skin. Much of the inspiration came from her Jamaican mother and the beauty rituals she had grown up around — ones centred on tropical fruits, botanical extracts, nourishing oils, and rich butters.

When her mother passed away in 2025, Rianne decided to build Nouri Bay from those early formulas. The brand is a tribute to her mother, but also to the generations of Caribbean women whose skincare knowledge informed those rituals in the first place.

That heritage sits alongside a modern, barrier-first approach. Nouri Bay’s position is simple: skincare for sensitive skin does not need to feel stripped back in every sense. It can be considered and comforting, while still giving you the sort of texture you actually want.

Nouri Bay has launched with the Barrier Boosting Face Oil, an overnight formula made with eight plant oils, including watermelon seed, jojoba, squalane, meadowfoam, kiwi, and camellia seed oils. The blend is designed to support skin that feels dry, stressed, or prone to sensitivity — with a mix of lightweight and more cushioning oils that leaves skin feeling soft rather than slick.

Watermelon seed oil delivers airy hydration, while jojoba, squalane, and meadowfoam seal in moisture. Kiwi and camellia seed oils add a boost of antioxidants, working alongside bisabolol and vitamin E to help ease the look of redness and support the skin barrier.

Rather than rebranding an off-the-shelf formula, Rianne developed the oil alongside a cosmetic chemist and had it dermatologically tested specifically on sensitive skin. And staying true to its sensitive-skin promise, the formula leaves out synthetic fragrance, essential oils, dyes, sulphates, silicones, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and drying alcohols. It is also vegan and cruelty-free.

The Barrier Boosting Face Oil is available now at nouribay.com, shipping exclusively within the UK.
