Scentcare Is Here, and It’s Making Perfume Last Longer

When it comes to the biggest beauty disappointments, spritzing your favourite perfume in the morning and losing track of it by lunch is high up on the list. It’s a frustration Obart founders Sophia Zaïme Risch and Marc-Alexandre Risch knew all too well, so they created a solution — one they call ‘scentcare’.

Obart is a new brand that takes the same thinking and technology behind skincare and applies it to fragrance. And that is most evident in the brand’s hero product, Fragrance Primer P3, an unscented base designed to help any perfume cling to skin for longer. Think of it as the fragrance equivalent of a makeup primer: just as foundation goes on better over a smooth base, perfume performs better on prepped skin.

As the Obart team explains, skin isn’t a neutral canvas; dry skin in particular absorbs perfume oils and lets them evaporate quickly, causing the scent to disappear sooner than you’d like.

Developed over three years with K-beauty specialists, P3 is built on what Obart calls Scent Mesh Technology. Making up 10% of the formula, it creates a breathable, invisible film on the skin that anchors fragrance and slows evaporation. According to the brand, clinical testing on both eaux de toilette and eaux de parfum found it extended wear by up to eight extra hours, with scent intensity three times stronger after 12 hours compared with fragrance alone.

Crucially, it doesn’t interfere with the scent itself. Because the primer is fragrance-free, it works under anything in your collection. Obart says that by slowing evaporation, it actually helps a perfume unfold as intended, keeping top notes bright for longer while the heart and base notes develop more gradually.

It doubles as skincare, too: glycerin and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid hydrate the skin for smoother scent application, while panthenol, centella asiatica, and niacinamide help support the skin barrier and calm redness. To use it, apply the primer to your pulse points, give it a few seconds to sink in, then spray your fragrance as normal.

As for what to layer on top, you can use any fragrance of your choice — nothing is off limits. However, if you want to stay on-brand, Obart offers eight unisex eaux de parfum, created and produced in France with perfumers at Firmenich.

Every Obart product carries the Clean at Sephora seal, meaning each one is formulated without the retailer’s list of excluded ingredients, which includes the likes of phthalates, parabens, and sulfates.

Obart is now available exclusively at Sephora in the UK and US, priced from £19 ($24).
