RŌZ Secures Growth Equity Investment
RŌZ, the high-performing haircare brand founded by celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak, has closed an oversubscribed seed round, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s growth.
The round was led by investment partner Silas Capital, a growth equity and venture capital firm focused on ‘exceptional next-generation consumer brands’, with substantial contributions from G9 Ventures. The funding round also saw investments from well-known makeup artists and hairstylists, including Rachel Goodwin, Melanie Inglessis, Sami Knight, Ericka Verrett, Kylee Heath, and Pati Dubroff. Additionally, actor Lily Collins has joined previous investors—including Mila Kunis, Daisy Ridley, Zoe Saldana, and Brooklyn Decker—who participated in an earlier friends-and-family round.
The capital raised in this seed round will be used to accelerate RŌZ’s retail expansion, strengthen its presence in the professional market, and drive product innovation.
“RŌZ is my greatest passion, and having growth partners who share my excitement and understand my vision is a dream come true,” expressed Roszak. “I am incredibly proud to welcome Silas Capital, G9 Ventures, Lily Collins, and some of my incredible peers as partners, and together, we will continue to bring this vision to life.”
For over two decades, Roszak has been the go-to hairstylist for many celebrities, including Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, Olivia Wilde, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldana, and Kristen Wiig. She founded RŌZ after identifying a need for a haircare line that offered professional-grade performance with clean, sustainably sourced ingredients. RŌZ launched in 2021 with two products, the Santa Lucia Styling Oil and Foundation Shampoo, and has since expanded to a range of eight styling and haircare products. The brand, which is designed for consumers and professional stylists alike, has experienced significant year-on-year growth and is now available at major US retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Credo, Goop, Revolve, and Nordstrom, as well as independent retailers and professional salons.
“Mara has rapidly built one of the most sought-after brands in the haircare category,” said Brian Thorne, Partner at Silas Capital. “We’re thrilled to partner with Mara, alongside her unmatched roster of A-list clients and community of professional stylists, to support RŌZ’s impressive momentum across channels.”
Since 2012, Silas Capital has invested in emerging consumer brands, supporting them in achieving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and enhanced brand value. The firm’s partners combine experience from growth equity, venture capital, and operating companies, providing valuable support to the companies they work with. In addition to capital investment, Silas Capital offers expertise in e-commerce, digital expansion, and traditional retail channels. The firm’s portfolio of beauty brands includes ILIA Beauty, Vacation, Herbivore Botanicals, and Makeup By Mario.
G9 Ventures is a private, evergreen fund investing in generation-defining brands across beauty, wellness, health, and community sectors, with a focus on long-term partnerships and a portfolio that includes companies like Bumble, Kitsch, Saie, and Spanx.
“We are thrilled to partner with Mara as she builds a prestige, omni-channel haircare brand for modern women. In an industry that too often focuses on what is wrong with your hair, RŌZ’s mission is to enhance your natural hair. The result is a line of clean, fuss-free products that work,” said Amy Griffin and Anna Doherty of G9 Ventures.
This successful seed round follows the arrival of RŌZ’s latest launch, the Foundation Mask—a deeply hydrating, reparative, silicone-free treatment that locks in moisture while improving elasticity and strengthening the hair cuticle.
