VicBlends Just Launched a Grooming Brand
VicBlends has an impressive résumé. The master barber (real name Victor Fontanez) has cut hair for many high-profile clients — Barack Obama and Tom Brady included — and has amassed a following of more than 23 million people across social media. He’s now adding brand founder to that list of accomplishments.
BetterDays is a new haircare brand that Fontanez co-founded with retail executive Joey Thomas, who also serves as the brand’s CEO. It’s built for men’s hair of every texture, with a particular focus on the wavy, curly, and coily (3A–4C) hair types that the brand says have long been underserved. The brand was incubated by Root and has raised $7 million in funding, led by Maveron and Will Ventures, with Lil Baby among its strategic investors.
For Fontanez, though, the brand is as much about how a haircut makes you feel as how it looks. “I’ve seen firsthand how a fresh haircut isn’t just about the looks; it’s a mental reset that immediately lifts you up,” he says.
That focus on confidence also appears in Fontanez’s community work. He has given free haircuts to boys and men in need on the streets of Atlanta, New York, and elsewhere in the US. And in August 2025, he opened VicBlends Academy at Valley State Prison in Chowchilla, California. It’s described as the first licensed barber school inside a California state prison, and it gives incarcerated men the chance to learn a trade and work towards their state barber licence.
BetterDays arrives with two products, both priced at $20. Rebound Cream is a lightweight leave-in conditioner made with shea butter, coconut oil, and panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), designed to hydrate dry hair without leaving it greasy. Grip Powder is a texturising powder that uses arrowroot powder and silica to absorb oil, giving lift and hold with a matte finish and, according to the brand, no white residue. Both products are infused with the brand’s signature fragrance, Scent No. 26.
“After a long career in the barbershop and being firsthand in my community, I’ve been inspired to bring that confidence to shelves for men, young men, and boys of all ages,” Fontanez explains. “Every hair texture will have an option to experience this at home and in their bathrooms. From back to school, to first dates, to game day and beyond, BetterDays is about transforming self-perceptions, loving yourself, and taking it one day at a time.”
BetterDays is available at betterdayshair.com, TikTok Shop, and Amazon in the US.
