Wildsmith Skincare Launches Immersive Sound Experience

Wildsmith Treescape

Wildsmith Skincare, the British brand known for its botanical, science-led formulations and commitment to both skin health and sustainability, has extended its wellbeing offering beyond the treatment room with the launch of Treescape, an immersive sound experience designed to restore, renew, and reconnect.

Created in collaboration with award-winning sound artist Justin WigganTreescape is described as a living sonic journey, composed using bio-sonification, a technique that transforms the electrical impulses of trees, soil, and plants into sound. These organic signals are interwoven with binaural beats and therapeutic Solfeggio Frequencies, resulting in a meditative experience that mirrors the natural world’s rhythms.

Wiggan, whose internationally recognised work explores the intersection of art, health, and public engagement, brings a distinctive perspective to the collaboration. A multidisciplinary sound artist, his practice spans installation, film, and performance, and is rooted in the belief that sound can foster emotional connection and support wellbeing. His projects have been exhibited at B.O.M (Birmingham Open Media), Protein Gallery (London), Baltic Gallery, Citric Gallery (Italy), and Gigantic Art Space (New York).

The project draws inspiration from the Arboretum on the Heckfield Estate, home to the UK’s only biodynamic nursery and a landscape that honours the legacy of the brand’s namesake, 19th-century botanist William Wildsmith.

“At Wildsmith, we believe in a holistic approach to wellbeing — one that is deeply rooted in nature and the restorative power it holds,” explained Katherine Pye, General Manager at Wildsmith. “Justin’s work aligns beautifully with this philosophy, using bio-sonification to create meaningful connections between people and the natural world. His research into natural soundscapes highlights their ability to reduce stress, regulate emotions, and enhance cognitive function.”

A core element of Treescape’s composition is its use of Solfeggio Frequencies, which are ancient tones believed to restore internal balance. First used in 9th-century Gregorian chants and rediscovered in the 1970s by Dr Joseph Puleo, these frequencies are thought to resonate with both the earth’s natural cycles and the human nervous system. Emerging research links them to reduced stress, deep relaxation, and emotional release.

“In an age of overstimulation, true rest has become rare. Yet our bodies, much like forests, respond to pattern, vibration and rhythm. Solfeggio frequencies tap into this innate sensitivity — not as a trend, but as a subtle language of the nervous system,” the brand said in a statement. “Treescape is our response to the need for deeper renewal. It reflects the regenerative values that shape every part of what we do, from biodynamic cultivation to how we formulate for long-term skin health. This is not simply a composition. It is a gesture of care that exists beyond product. It is presence, translated into sound.”

Whether enhancing a self-care ritual, supporting meditation, or accompanying a mindful walk, Treescape is designed to be experienced in whatever way best supports your wellbeing.

The 2-hour and 50-minute auditory journey is now available to stream in full and for free on SoundCloud. Listen here.
