Neutrogena Taps Joey King as Global Ambassador
Neutrogena has announced Joey King as its newest Global Ambassador, an appointment that coincides with the launch of its new Evenly Clear collection.
For Neutrogena, the partnership reflects a strategic push to address the reality that acne continues to rank as the top skin concern for adults under 40 — and for King, it’s personal. Having navigated acne, post-acne marks, and the pressure of experiencing flare-ups while filming, the Emmy-nominated actress is stepping into the role with a level of authenticity that today’s educated skincare consumer craves. She isn’t just pitching a product; she’s leading a conversation about the intersection of confidence and adult skincare struggles.
“By engaging a community of leading dermatologists, we created clinically proven solutions that simultaneously treat active acne and visibly fade the look of post-acne hyperpigmentation that adults struggle with most, while delivering a breakthrough aesthetic experience — all at an accessible price point,” says Chris Riat, Global Brand Lead at Neutrogena. “And with Joey King helping bring this story to life, we’re able to connect with consumers in an authentic, relatable way.”
The campaign features King alongside Dr Dhaval Bhanusali, one of the brand’s Global Innovation Partners, who co-designed the line. His aim was to bridge the gap between dermatologist-level results and the convenience of a drugstore routine.
“Our goal with Neutrogena was to translate what we see in our practices every day into advanced formulas that are effective and designed to meet real-life needs,” says Bhanusali.
According to the brand, this collaboration-driven innovation model involved dermatologists from the earliest stages of development. Dr Muneeb Shah, who also co-designed the collection, noted that the focus was on making adult acne treatments easy to understand and fit into busy schedules. “By collaborating closely with Neutrogena, we thoughtfully co-designed this collection — from sharing formula insights to recommending ingredients and providing valuable dermatological perspectives. We wanted to make treating acne as an adult easy to understand and fit into busy routines.”
The six-product collection focuses on a dual-threat approach: treating active breakouts while simultaneously fading post-acne marks — said to be the number two concern for adults — that often linger long after the blemish is gone. Highlights include the In-Shower Cleansing Mask, a 3.5% benzoyl peroxide treatment designed to fight bacteria and refine skin texture; the Acne Exfoliant, a multi-acid serum featuring mandelic acid to remove dead surface skin and smooth tone; and the Facial Retinoid, a 0.1% adapalene cream that renews skin and keeps pores clear for an even complexion.
Evenly Clear is available now at Target and Ulta Beauty, with prices starting at $12.99. There is currently no word on a UK launch.
