Birkenstock’s First-Ever Nail Polish Collection Is Here
Consider your summer pedicure sorted. Birkenstock, the cult footwear brand that made ugly-chic a thing, is finally launching its first-ever nail polish collection.
The new range sits within Birkenstock’s Care Essentials line, which debuted in 2024 as part of the brand’s 250th anniversary. That initial drop leaned heavily into foot care, with products like bath salts, scrubs, balms, and oils designed to treat everything from dryness to post-long-walk fatigue. Developed over several years and made in Germany using natural-origin ingredients, it marked a clear move into wellness, with less fashion, more function, but still very much about feet.
This new category flips that slightly. Think less fix, more finish.
The polishes are vegan and plant-based, and labelled ‘23-free’, meaning they leave out a defined list of potentially harmful or toxic ingredients. Instead, the formulas draw on alternatives derived from sources such as sugar beet and cane, keeping things aligned with the brand’s wider care narrative.
And yes, this is very much about how toes look in a sandal, with the collection designed to complement Birkenstock’s seasonal and classic open-toe styles.
Shade-wise, it’s a tight edit: Eggshell, Light Rose, Crocus, Surf Green, and Red. No overwhelming options, just a considered lineup that slots neatly into the brand’s core colour palette. To round things out, there’s a Top Coat and Base Coat, plus a Nail Polish Remover infused with sweet almond oil — because nothing ruins a pair of Arizonas faster than crusty cuticles.
The packaging follows familiar territory: minimalist, functional, and made from recyclable glass, in line with the brand’s no-fuss aesthetic. Each bottle is also paired with an expertly designed brush for a precise, even application.
The nail polish collection will be available from 8 April exclusively at birkenstock.com, with prices ranging from £8.95 to £14.95 ($11.95 to $19.95) and shipping to both the US and UK.
