KOBA Skincare Expands Into Face Care

KOBA Facial Skincare

KOBA Skincare, the French skincare brand celebrated for its African-inspired approach to body care, has unveiled its first face care line, the Ezali Face Care Collection.

Founded by Thérèse M’Boungoubaya in 2021, Koba Skincare is known for championing simple, effective ingredients, and creating results-driven products designed to nourish and support the skin’s natural balance. Named after the Lingala word for ‘turtle’, nodding to M’Boungoubaya’s Congolese heritage, Koba embodies protection and harmony in skincare. With a focus on eco-friendly practices and naturally active ingredients, Koba strives to offer effective, simple routines that bring out the skin’s natural radiance while also honouring the earth. Koba products contain over 97% of natural ingredients, are vegan, cruelty-free, and packaged using recyclable materials.

“We’re so excited to finally announce the launch of our face care range – a range that we have been developing and testing for many years,” said M’Boungoubaya. “With the success of our body care range, our goal with this new range is to simplify skincare routines while delivering powerful results and benefits to ensure our skin is hydrated and radiant at all times”

Koba’s expansion into facial skincare introduces two new products into the brand’s Ezali collection: the Safou Sorbet Cleansing Balm and the Light It Up Face Cream.

Koba Face Care

Safou oil is the hero ingredient in the new collection, a nutrient-rich vegetable oil derived from the African Safou fruit, known as the African pear, and a staple in Koba’s existing formulations. Safou oil is high in fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making it the perfect ingredient for hydrating and soothing the skin, regulating sebum production, reducing redness, and evening out skin tone.

The Safou Sorbet Cleansing Balm (£63 / $79) is a luxurious, texture-changing cleanser formulated to gently dissolve makeup and impurities, while maintaining essential moisture in the skin. Safou oil, along with jojoba and babassu oils, combine with exfoliating salicylic acid and calming turmeric extract, transforming from a silky balm to a light, milk-like consistency with water. The result is cleansed, soft, and refreshed skin.

The Light It Up Face Cream (£36 / $47) is a lightweight moisturiser infused with skin-nourishing ingredients that include niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and centella asiatica extract. This cream is designed to deliver lasting hydration, helping reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines while protecting the skin against environmental stressors. With a breathable, mattifying finish, it works well on its own or as a smooth primer for makeup.
