Your Supplement Routine Is About to Get a K-Beauty Glow-Up
The UK fell for K-beauty years ago and has been infatuated ever since. But K-supplements? Not so much. New brand Rin wants to change that.
The Korean inner-beauty brand has just launched in the UK, and it’s here to address an inconvenient truth. The problem many of us have with supplements, even the best-formulated ones, is that we struggle to stick with them. Most of what’s currently sitting on shelves is super clinical and, if I’m honest, a little boring. So instead of bringing more pills and powders, Rin is giving us two formats that are huge in Korea and will (hopefully) keep us coming back: a strip that melts on your tongue and a chewy jelly stick.
Behind the brand is a mother-and-daughter duo, Dr Youngja H. Park and Candace Dannenbaum. Park is a pharmacist and scientist with a PhD in pharmacology and toxicology and more than 25 years spent studying how the body absorbs nutrients. Unsurprisingly, she handles Rin’s actives and formulations. Dannenbaum, meanwhile, spent nearly two decades in finance and now heads up taste and texture.
Dannenbaum was the driving force behind creating the brand. She started to notice that friends who were fluent in skincare were baffled by supplements. “For years, when my family wanted to know whether something was worth taking, we asked my mother. That clarity stayed in our family for too long. I watched friends in London who knew every serum on their shelf feel completely lost about what they were taking for their skin. RIN is Korean inner beauty made clearer, easier to keep and finally shared beyond our table,” she said.
Of the two formats, we’re most excited to try the Glow Strips (£19.99 for 14), which Rin says are the UK’s first orally dissolving film (ODF) inner-beauty strips. They’re designed to support a healthy-looking glow and a more even-looking tone. To pull this off, each passion fruit strip carries 80mg of liposomal glutathione (an antioxidant the body makes naturally), alongside vitamins C and E, marine collagen peptides, L-cysteine, and milk thistle.
The newest launch is Collagen+ Jelly Sticks (£27.99 for 14). Available in either peach or mixed berry flavour, each stick contains 2,650mg of marine collagen peptides, which Rin says average 300 daltons, compared with roughly 2,000 to 5,000 for standard collagen peptides. Vitamin C, biotin, hyaluronic acid, and hydrolysed elastin are also included for added beauty benefits.
Glow Strips and Collagen+ Jelly Sticks are available now at rinskin.com. There is no news regarding a US launch.
