Tate McRae Might Be Launching a Beauty Brand
Tate McRae could be getting ready to launch her own beauty brand. As reported by Cosmetics Business, a trademark application for Tate By Tate McRae was filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office on 2 July, covering everything from fragrance and skincare to body mists, lip glosses, and candles. It’s still early days — the application has only cleared the USPTO’s initial filing requirements and hasn’t yet been assigned to an examiner — but it’s enough to suggest beauty could be the singer’s next move. McRae is already a global ambassador for Neutrogena.
Living Proof Gives Dry Shampoo the Micellar Treatment
Living Proof has given dry shampoo a rethink with its new Perfect Hair Day Sheer Clean Dry Shampoo Mist. Instead of the usual aerosol powder, it’s a lightweight mist inspired by micellar skincare, designed to soak up oil without leaving hair chalky or heavy. The brand says it dries down completely invisible, even on dark hair, while helping the scalp stay comfortable. After 146 prototypes and more than 300 experiments, the finished formula lands today.
Killabrush Lands at Lookfantastic
Just two months after launching, Killabrush has picked up its first retail partner with Lookfantastic. The brand’s pitch is simple: its hairbrushes have antimicrobial technology built into the brush itself, rather than added as a surface coating, to help limit microbial build-up between uses. Killabrush says clinical testing found the brushes can reduce up to 99.9% of bacteria, germs, and viruses, and also support scalp hygiene.
The Estée Lauder Companies Is Researching Why Foundation Shades Still Miss the Mark
Finding your exact foundation shade can still involve a surprising amount of guesswork, and The Estée Lauder Companies wants to make that easier. The company has teamed up with the University of Leeds and colour science expert Dr Kaida Xiao to study how people actually see their own skin tone and undertones. The researchers will compare those perceptions with scientific colour measurements to work out which differences people genuinely notice. The findings could eventually help improve how foundation and concealer shades are developed, tested, and matched.
Aromatherapy Associates Launches Its First New Blend in Seven Years
Aromatherapy Associates has unveiled its first new blend in seven years. Desert Therapy takes its cue from the stillness of the desert, with a warm, woody blend of 50 essential oils including frankincense, oud, rose, turmeric, orange, cedarwood, and sandalwood. You’ll find it across a Bath & Shower Oil, Body Oil, and Pure Essential Oil, but the launch goes beyond its at-home products. Three new spa treatments are joining the lineup too, including a warm-stone massage, a mineral body treatment, and a sculpting facial massage.
5 Warning Signs to Look Out for Before Booking a Tweakment
Aesthetic treatments might be easier to book than ever, but that doesn’t mean every practitioner is working to the same standard. Lesley Blair MBE, CEO and Chair of BABTAC and CIBTAC, says there are a few warning signs worth paying attention to before you hand over your face — or your money. Think vague answers about qualifications, skipped consultations, patch tests treated as optional, and little or no aftercare advice. Read the full list of red flags to check before you book.
