Maybelline Launches Virtual Try-On in ChatGPT
Your next makeup consultation could happen inside ChatGPT. As of today, Maybelline’s Virtual Try-On is live in the chatbot — a beauty first, according to the brand. Powered by L’Oréal’s ModiFace technology, it works like a digital makeup coach. Ask a question in your own words and you’ll get suggestions based on the occasion, your undertone, or your personal style. From there, you can test shades using your camera or an uploaded photo, then find where to buy them online or in store. To get started, search for Maybelline in ChatGPT’s Apps section. You’ll find more details at maybelline.com.
Lady Gaga Takes the Top Job at Haus Labs
Lady Gaga has been named the new CEO of Haus Labs. According to Business of Fashion, the singer and actor has stepped in to run her beauty brand, replacing co-founder Ben Jones, who reportedly left the business in October. Jones previously served as chief digital officer at The Honest Company. Gaga first launched the brand in 2019 as Haus Laboratories, sold exclusively on Amazon, before relaunching in 2022 as Haus Labs, with new branding and a reformulated range focused on clean formulas and active ingredients.
Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato Reunite for Rare Beauty
Noughties nostalgia is having a moment, and Rare Beauty is leaning right into it. Its new campaign, Still Making Each Other Blush, stars Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. It celebrates a friendship that goes back nearly 25 years and, naturally, there’s a product to go with it. The Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle pairs the brand’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, which Rare Beauty says gives blendable, high-impact colour from just one dot, with its Soft Pinch Blush Brush. Gomez wears Hope, a nude mauve, while Lovato goes for Virtue, a beige peach. The bundle is available now at rarebeauty.com.
Bodycare Brand Beiin Lands at Credo Beauty
San Diego bodycare brand Beiin has signed its first major retail partner, Credo Beauty. Founder Leah Kirpalani, who also runs clean beauty retailer Shop Good, says moving from online onto physical shelves was always the plan once the sales backed it up. She describes Beiin’s sweet spot as ‘accessible luxury’, meaning body products pretty enough to leave out but priced for everyday use. Read the full story here.
Eve Lom Drops Renewal Treatment Eye Oil
Eve Lom has a new product for tired-looking eyes, and this time it’s an oil. The Renewal Treatment Eye Oil is light enough to glide on almost like water, with the brand promising it tackles seven signs of ageing in one go. Olive-derived squalane and ceramides join British borage oil to look after the skin barrier, while a botanical complex goes after fine lines and a lavender-based active takes on puffiness and dark circles. In an independent trial of 31 people, Eve Lom reports a 37% reduction in wrinkles after 28 days. It won’t fix a bad night’s sleep, but it might help disguise one. UK and US shoppers can pick it up at evelom.com.
Lola Moves Into Bodycare
Lola, the women’s health brand known for its organic period care and sexual wellness products, has launched its first bodycare line. The Hormone-Safe Body Care Collection includes a Gentle Body Wash and an All Over Body Deodorant, and the brand says both are made without ingredients linked to endocrine disruption. The body wash uses ceramides and aloe to support the skin barrier, while the deodorant is free from aluminium and baking soda and uses shea butter and vitamin E to keep skin comfortable. Both come scented or fragrance-free, and they’re available now in the US at mylola.com and amazon.com.
