Lorena Cosmetics Acquires Sk:n and The Harley Medical Group
Lorena Cosmetics Holdings SPV Limited has announced the acquisition and relaunch of sk:n and The Harley Medical Group (THMG), ensuring the continuation of aesthetic and cosmetic services at over 30 clinic locations throughout the UK, including flagship sites on Harley Street in London and St. Vincent Street in Glasgow.
In the wake of the previous business liquidation, Lorena Cosmetics has re-employed many former staff members, ensuring continuity of service and upholding the strong reputations sk:n and THMG have built over the years. By prioritising patient and staff support, the relaunch aims to address the challenges left behind, such as assisting former patients with securing refunds, reconnecting them with their preferred practitioners, and restoring trust through a patient-centric care model.
“We are acutely aware of the impact the previous business liquidation had on patients, employees, and suppliers alike,” said Stephen Hannan, Clinical Services Director of Lorena Cosmetics. “As a patient-centric business already delivering care to stringent regulations and the highest standards of service, we are committed to rebuilding consumer trust by implementing a robust business infrastructure and support for patients affected by the previous closure to ensure they receive the best possible care moving forward.”
The relaunch of sk:n and THMG is part of a broader strategy by Lorena Investments Group, the parent company behind Lorena Cosmetics. The group, which also includes The Skin Experts, ABC Medical, and Optical Express, is leveraging its nearly 35 years of experience in healthcare to strengthen its presence in the aesthetic and medical sectors. This portfolio reflects Lorena’s extensive expertise in dermatology, ophthalmology, and cosmetic surgery, positioning it as a leader in integrated healthcare services.
“The acquisition and integration of sk:n and THMG into the Lorena portfolio reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class patient care, regulatory excellence, and innovative treatment solutions,” said David Moulsdale, Chairman and CEO of Lorena Cosmetics. “By leveraging our almost 35 years of healthcare expertise, we aim to elevate the sk:n and THMG brands, ensuring every patient receives exceptional, medically-led, clinician-delivered care in state-of-the-art facilities.”
More than half of the reopened sk:n clinics have been relocated to upgraded premises, many of which are now situated within Optical Express facilities. These modern locations meet stringent regulatory standards, enabling the delivery of advanced treatments and surgical procedures.
Looking ahead to 2025, Lorena Cosmetics has outlined plans to introduce cutting-edge treatments and technologies, such as polynucleotides and advanced dermatology services. Additionally, the group plans to expand clinic locations to meet the growing demand for aesthetic and medical care across the UK.
