Ethereal Glow, Anyone? Dove Cameron’s Curology Line Has Landed
Being the face of Schwarzkopf and Urban Decay clearly wasn’t enough for Dove Cameron. She’s back with a new beauty partnership, and this time she’s helped shape the products.
The actress and singer has teamed up with Curology, the US beauty brand best known for its personalised prescription treatments. But the duo’s first collection together, Ethereal Glow, doesn’t need a prescription at all.
“I’ve always been passionate about skincare, but I wanted to create something that went beyond a collection that simply looked beautiful,” Cameron said. “I felt there was an opportunity for a regimen with a strong creative identity that was also grounded in serious skin science. Curology was the right partner because they bring real dermatological expertise and believe, as I do, that skincare should be personal.”
The collection is made up of four products, starting with a cleanser. Shed the Day is a gel that foams up as you work it in, and it’s meant to take off makeup without that tight, stripped feeling. The moisturiser, Lethal Glow (I’ll get to the names), is a peptide gel-cream that promises long-lasting hydration and barrier support while feeling weightless.
There is makeup prep too, with the Ethereal Primer blending ceramides and soft-focus powders to blur and hydrate, and help your makeup stay put. And the Sugar Venom Lip Treatment is a high-shine shimmer made with three hydrating ingredients.
In creating Ethereal Glow, Curology’s dermatology and science teams handled the formulas (which are vegan and cruelty-free), while Cameron took care of pretty much everything else, from the names to the packaging. The snake motif comes from Cameron’s own tattoos and runs across all four products, in shades of charcoal, dusty blue, blush, and ink teal. Here, the snake is a symbol of transformation and renewal, a theme the collection ties to Cameron’s evolution from Disney star to pop star.
The good news is that you don’t need a Curology subscription to buy the collection, though it was designed to work alongside the brand’s prescription treatments. “We developed these formulas to be highly effective, elegant, and sensorial, while fitting easily into a consistent daily regimen,” explained Dr Whitney Tolpinrud, Curology’s chief dermatologist. “Each can stand on its own, but together they create a simple routine that complements the targeted work of personalized Curology prescription formulas.”
The Ethereal Glow collection is now available exclusively at curology.com, priced from $12. Curology doesn’t currently ship outside the US.
