Marc Jacobs Beauty Is Back, But Not As You Remember It
Credit cards at the ready: Marc Jacobs Beauty is launching… again.
For those still mourning the loss of the fashion designer’s original beauty line, you’re not alone. After launching in 2013 through a partnership with Kendo Brands, Marc Jacobs Beauty became a cult favourite almost instantly, only to abruptly disappear from shelves in 2021. But the beauty gods (well, Coty) clearly had other plans. In 2023, the beauty giant announced it was expanding its existing Marc Jacobs fragrance licence into colour cosmetics, setting the stage for the brand’s return to makeup.
This isn’t quite a resurrection, though. In fact, forget everything you knew about the old line.
Marc Jacobs Beauty launches with a brand-new concept built around ‘Joyride Sensoriality’ — an immersive approach designed to engage the senses through unexpected textures, tactile finishes, and formulas made to be played with.
For Jacobs, the relaunch represents a continuation of his mission to disrupt standard definitions of style, treating cosmetics as a vehicle for pure, unapologetic self-expression.
“We have had a long and successful partnership, working with Coty on fragrance and we are excited to do the same with beauty,” he said. “I am not interested in one right way to look; beauty, like fashion, has always been a form of self-expression rooted in experimentation, play, and reimagining the familiar in new ways.”
The brand is launching with a curated edit of colour cosmetics for the eyes, lips, and complexion. The initial lineup includes the Drawn This Way Longwear Eyeliner, Born Star Eyeshadow, Heart On Lipstick, Joystick Blush Stick, Flashes Mascara, Legally Bronze Bronzer, and Money Shot Highlighter Gel. Each formula is designed to be layered and blended, with a high-impact, long-wearing finish.
Naturally, the packaging comes with its own fashion credentials. Designed by Marc Jacobs himself, the collection features oversized, soft-touch matte and metallic silhouettes inspired by the brand’s iconic charm motifs — think a daisy for complexion formulas, a star for eye products, and a heart for lips.
And the price point? Way more approachable than you might expect, with the collection ranging from £22 to £35 ($26 to $42).
“Marc Jacobs Beauty has been years in the making, and we could not be more proud to bring it to life,” said Jean Holtzmann, Chief Brands Officer at Coty Prestige. “This launch is a joyful, maximalist celebration of color and creativity. It is exactly the kind of bold innovation that defines Coty Prestige, and we believe it will be one of the defining launches of 2026.”
The good news is we won’t have to wait long to get our hands on the collection. It will launch online at marcjacobs.com on 28 May, shipping to both the UK and US. From 1 June, US customers can shop the brand at sephora.com, while UK customers can find the full collection at selfridges.com. For those who prefer to try before they buy, the collection lands in physical Sephora stores across the UK and US on 1 September 2026.
